Repeat after me: it was NOT A DOOR!! This remains one of the biggest misconceptions in the fictional story, and this video fails to mention it. Anyone who LOOKS at the piece of wood that Rose is floating on, will see that it’s actually a large panel of the ornately carved woodwork, that was located above one of the arched doorways into the First Class Lounge (which was destroyed when the ship split apart). You can even see the top of the doorway arch along the side of the panel. Cameron was inspired by the retrieval of an actual such panel, floating from the wreckage in the water the day following the sinking. This panel is now in the Maritime Museum in Halifax, and Cameron had a convincing replica of the artifact built for the movie. Now, as for whether Jack COULD have pulled himself up onto the panel without spilling Rose back into the water…debate among yourselves. 😏

0y father wasn't much of a TV watcher until he was semi-retired, but he NEVER missed Gunsmoke. When my sister was in college in St. Louis and would come home on weekends we would take her back to school. It was about a 90 minute drive back then and we would go out to eat and then drop her off at the school and drive home always with enough time to watch Gunsmoke at 8 o'clock, Have Gun Will Travel at 8:30 Candid Camera at 9:00 and What's My Line at 9:30 News at ten and then to bed. Other than the evening news, that was the extent of his TV experience.

The film Titanic had its flaws like all other movies, however in the case of titanic, we only have what historical rerecords that exist, however, what's left out are the personal accounts of those important individuals who died. We cannot account for the atmosphere of the time & all the stigmas of the time also. They embody the entire experience & one without the other leaves out critical details no one can predict except perhaps to put themselves into the shoes of the people of the time & really research the times of 1912. The air the sounds & all that as well. Regardless of the errors, This version of titanic did one thing the others did not, It gave a sense of a reality long since gone. I very much enjoyed this version of titanic.
