I listen to all of them for mention of the incongruity of the match between ordinary George and the Lady Ann. It adds a certain touch to the grim facts of counter intelligence There are more dangerous matters than the search for Karla. The entanglements and the messes people make!

Very enjoyable and entertaining. A light read, I had several laugh out loud moments. Loved Will Wheaton’s rendition, he made it come alive and really added to the whole experience.

On a job in Phoenix I found a Colorado Green Toad in a vent pipe on the jobsight. We fished it out with a twobyfour It was as big as a dinner plate.I had heard of those who extract venom from the secretions of their skin when stressed.Or they just skin them and dry out the in skin of the toad ,grind it up and smoke it.We let this one go free. The big toad hopped crawled into some bushes and that was the only time I came across one.True story folks. No toad was harmed .Smoking Colorado Toad Skin my be hazardous to ones mental and spiritual health .Always consult your local brouho of witch before experimenting with any dark spiritual substances.Or just don't.

Note: This is the second part of the first book. If this is your first time, please start from the first part of Book 1. Another note: The events of Book 0 are separate from the main story, and we recommend listening to it after finishing the main story. A third note: The series is published in order.

I'm sure I started to read the books years ago when I drove to Europe in the truck, I used to buy 3 or 4 at a time as Greece was long way from the UK. If I'm right I gave up on them, the author liked to describe things at the expense of the story, they got boring.

The audio book narrator does no justice unfortunately. Reading the books is the only way to enjoy them. They need to find a better narrator for the audio.

FYI, Jayston has narrated most of Le Carré's Smiley series. If you like his voice, you will probably like Hugo Speer' s voice. He plays Detective Stone in the BBC TV series by Danny Bocklehurst.

This author clearly had the buttwater of his antagonists in each PINT he ever drunk! The rest? Anti-Irish propaganda, depicting them all as stupid & freaky. `Her tea grew cold in her hand´ -> When that is your fiercest problem you got nothing to moan.

Greene, LeCarre and Buckley were such masters of this genre, because their plotlines were underwritten by the real politics and human tragedies of the complex times they were writing in, and writing about. While I enjoy more recent spy fiction, it's like the difference between eating a substantial, satisfying meal, and eating a Twinkie.
