Loved the theme song to this series. I enjoyed the show (except for the 2 talentless "comedy relief" bumbling guys who hung around the fort doing...something, I forget what), but I'd forgotten the ending where she kills her crazy husband. At least they got the chance to wrap up the series and get them together, if only briefly. Some shows just end on a cliffhanger and the fans are left to twist in the wind.

I really hate whatever event turned Portia lesbian. She was absolutely gorgeous. Even worse than her being turned lesbian is her hooking up with Ellen. She could have gotten a much prettier chick.

I got this show on DVD and I HATED it. I love the idea of these two in a show together, but the made Elizabeth in to such whore mooning over Hawkeye while her husband was being held captive by the French... it was a disgrace.

It's interesting people are even having this conversation... This show was viewed as one of the most "liberal and progressive shows" on TV at the time. Clearly a lot has changed since 1998, they don't many good shows anymore.

After seeing that closing scene how can U not smile & be faint of heart GOD they were so good together! John aka Peter was the real star of the show not Calista even make my minimized like that the audience ABSOLUTELY LOVED JOHN & Nelle aka Portia has to be the most Elegant Actress on any sitcom of all time shame there wasn't a biscuit & ice queen show spin off after season 5 with no Robert return

Ok so if you remember the pilot episode William is captured by the Huron tribe and over the course of the series Elizabeth learns to live off the land and how to survive so in the final episode William returns home completely out of his mind only to find out that his wife has fallen in love with Hawkeye William then beats Elizabeth and kidnaps her William then ties her to a rock and holds a knife to her chest to cut her heart out until Hawkeye comes to rescue her Elizabeth frees herself grabs Hawkeyes musket and kills William and the series ends with Elizabeth and Hawkeye together

Yes, a very well done series. The script writers really had a feeling for the work of James Fenimore Cooper. Guess it had to do with the success of MEDICINE WOMAN that someone wanted to bring up something against it . But with the downslide of the concurrence so HAWKEYE went downhill as well.

This is a wonderful video. I loved this show, and still do! Often I thought that it could have gone on for at least a couple more seasons, most shows cannot hold a candle to it! Excellent choice of song!

I remember a lot of cleavage in this show. Which you never would have seen in real life at that time. She had to do this show, to go back to work, cuz her husband was being maliciously and wrongly persecuted by the Federal Gov't. So all of his money was either seized or tied up in legal defense. She was beautiful. I think when I watched this show, I only watched her. I had no idea what the show was about nor what was going on. Who cared.

beautiful vid. I'm an old-timer. got to see the show when it first aired. and like Annette, it was my first Vamp. series. I had the maddest crush on Nick. i mean who wouldn't? i was totally crushed when it ended. Luckily I have wonderful vid's to watch and the series on dvd. So they live on Nik and Nat forever
