Ho! Ho! Ho! Hey Waukee. A very special Merry Christmas to you and your family. I hope it becomes very special for you all.😀 Ho! Ho! Ho!😀

Thanks Mark and the merriest of the season to you too and your family.😊 Don't have as much time as I used to into doing these videos; perhaps in retirement. Glad to see people are enjoying them and finding them useful; and keeping 8 tracks and players going strong! 👍I've been listening to some Christmas 8 tracks lately. Take care and stay safe. Next year will be interesting.

Thank you so much for doing this! This was THE Christmas record of my childhood. Advent time meant starting to listen and sing to this record.
@waukee32111 күн бұрын
You're very welcome! Same with my family. This record and the Harry Simone "Sing we now of Christmas (aka Little Drummer Boy)" LP, were staple records of Christmas. My Mom also loved the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas records.

Audiopak and Capitol 8-track tapes had the same thing when it comes to repair. Sometimes it gets broken when the chip came out. When you put it back together, you need a dremel to remove the plastic bottom slot, so that you can put it back together.

I was a little girl when my dad bought this lp ...I learned each by heart without understanding a single word. Now I have a son living in Germany who traslated it to me after 60 years !

What causes a wrinkly place to get on the tape? :)
@waukee3216 ай бұрын
When the internal take up spool isn't pulling/turning enough to take up the tape slack, the tape will back up and the capstan will keep pushing it into the cartridge. The pushed in tape has no place to move so it bunches up and starts bending and wrinkling. This mostly happens when the tape on the spool is wound too loose. Too tight and it won't pull out easily. Has to be balanced just right.
@markcovington81596 ай бұрын
Hey Waukee. I've seen where that style of cartridge can also be opened using reversable pliers. :)
@waukee3216 ай бұрын
I suppose they can aid you in providing separating pressure on the shell halfs. The important thing on these is to SLOWLY flex then press the tabs near their base to prevent them from breaking (some get brittle with age) and start from the exposed tape end, then center and end at the label end.

Sorry, I haven't used this camera for a while and the blurring wasn't expected. Unlike these vintage audio pieces, today's electronics aren't built, or intended, to last.

Can anyone tell me if changing a belt can peoduce an annoying hum from the player during tape play? I changed out a 6.1" square belt to a 6" round belt and the player has a higher humming sound. What's that about??
@waukee3216 ай бұрын
Some amount of extra tightness from a belt creates extra resistance to the motor's rotation. This can create the humming sound but also check the starting capacitor connected to the motor which can fail. If you hear crackling as well, it can be a dirty motor armature where you have to clean off the carbon deposits between the windings gaps. This requires opening the motor which is not always the easiest thing to do.You have to be very careful that you do not damage the delicate carbon brushes.

Yeah I know. Was disappointed with the auto focus not working right. It's an old but well taken care of Sony Cybershot DSC-W200 digital camera. Lens is clean too. In movie mode, you don't have much control over the focus feature.Maybe I can get it working again someday. Thanks for watching; hope it helps
@The8TrackChap Жыл бұрын
@@waukee321 some of those digital cameras don’t have continuous auto focus. They’ll focus once before hitting the record button and that’s it.
@waukee321 Жыл бұрын
It does have a macro option for photo close-ups, but I don't think it applies to the movie mode. My other videos haven't really had any very close movie shots. You'll notice the more distant shots are much clearer.
@The8TrackChap Жыл бұрын
@@waukee321 I’m saying the auto focus isn’t continuous. Just fixed focus once you start recording.

How do I keep the labels from disintegrating? I have like 6 Jim Croce tapes and he looks like Freddy Kruger on all of them due to the label scrunching up and rippling. Help! Elvis is at stake here lol
@waukee321 Жыл бұрын
You have to be very careful with these laminate type labels. If you fold them in the slightest, they flake off. If you are removing them to get rid of bubbles and to flatten them out see if it's worth the risk first. Try to unpeel them without folding it by lifting in an upward manner while keeping the label flat and straight

I've seen old roll catalogs and believe all 8 of his Impromptus were available on rolls. I also have the Op 142 No 3 "Rosamunde" variations played by Lazarus but the ending has some damage. Hope I can get it fixed and recorded at some point.

Thanks! I turned a Fleetwood Mac Rumors tape into a Qi charger for my son. I fiddled with it for a half hour before finding your video, and then I got it apart in a minute or so. Since I didn't care about the tape inside, I was able to open the front (tape side) tab and then wiggle the back one open to avoid cutting through the artwork.
