Love the video. What fly were you using? Have you been experimenting with any of the flies you tied over the last couple of months?
@Callaweginflyfishing5 күн бұрын
I caught most of them on "The best bluegill fly ever", like usual. I did catch two on a Balanced attractor, one I just posted. Thanks!

Great trip for this spring weather we have had. I wish Mother Nature would just let the nice spring season get started for the fishing to get going well here in missouri. But I'll keep trying. Be blessed. My friend.

Even though it takes a little time and effort to Tye this one after you were done, I know why you would do it. It looks like the bluegill won't let it pass by them. I hope you took the time and effort to tye more than just the one. Be blessed. My friend.

I always tie at least two. You hate to loose the one fly that is working. Usually I tie a trial before I make a video. The thumbnail image is actually the first one I tied. Thanks!

I live in Japan. In Japan, fly fishing is mostly trout fishing, and few people use flies to catch bass or bluegills, but I enjoy it very much. I also enjoy fly tying after watching your videos! I learned fly fishing from the staff of Tiemco, a Japanese fishing tackle manufacturer. Thank you for the great video!!

Purple and blue must look very different to the fish when the water filters the sunlight. I recently went smallmouth fishing with a friend who tied purple and black buggers with a chartreuse rib and bead.... the fish smashed the buggers !!! Let us know how your Purple Dragon fishes. Thanks
@Callaweginflyfishing14 күн бұрын
I read that purple is more apparent to trout. So it is probably true for pan fish as well.

Is your boat light enough to pick up and slide.into the truck bed or have you contrived some method to make it easier on the back?

I just man handle it into the back of the pickup. Its not real light, but I can handle it.

I love using my 7'6" Orvis 2wt.. Since I fish from shore and often have to navigate brush, what do you think about using longer Euro Nymphing rods for bluegill?
@Callaweginflyfishing18 күн бұрын
Not sure. My 8'-6" five weight works OK to flip the fly under overhangs, sometimes!
