God, this cutscene is so fucking cool. The only thing anyone talks about is standing here I realize but no one talks about these moments.

No one ever talks about what kind of living nightmare these kids are going through. You know how Raiden's initial objection to all this is that they're being put into VR child-soldier training programs like the abuse he suffered under Solidus Snake? That is the least of their concerns. The horrors of abuse these children would face as child-soldiers-in-training is nowhere near the trauma they are currently experiencing as nothing but f**king brains in jars. When Maverick takes them out of the Sears Program, they're in living death. They would be in utter sensory darkness, cut off from all senses. Or worse: if their cyborg eyes are left activated, they would be stuck watching in deaf horror as strange men with guns take them out of their capsules to who-knows-where, constantly awake to face the reality that they've been stripped of everything they've ever known, including their bodies. Could you describe the exact features of your face, right now from memory? Even after Maverick finally gets them moved: first from the transport vessels to Doktor's solitary-confinement VR program then from that to generic cyborg bodies: from THAT to actual custom-made bodies, do you think the kids will remember what they're own faces look like? What they're own voices sound like? It's not like Maverick's gonna be able to call their parents to get some creative insight.
