I wasn't even really tracking how much damage Ramuh was doing, then boom battle over. The dude was a cheat code. Very interested to see where chapter 2 takes his story

That is rough! I was mildly annoyed that I got caught on that mop the first time. Definitely not anywhere near as annoying as the sneaking game in the Desert Palace in IX.

I thought their characterization of her was really good so far. Her combat flowed really well, too. It is similar to Tifa, but it is still unique and new. I'm ready to find some posters in the next episode!

I figured it was about time. I actually recorded this after my first playthrough with no camera and a much lower score lol. The 2nd playthrough lightened me up on the game. Still didn't love it, but it was definitely not as bad as I felt about it the first time. I thought about throwing in the Ricky Bobby meme every time I did something with my hands 😅

I had forgotten that it was completely cinematics and fighting. Definitely no time to take a breather. Absolutely a ton of fun. The Yuffie DLC has a major lead in the Twitter voting, so I'm probably kicking that off next week.

The Rufus fight may have been the worst I've played the entire game. Honestly, I struggled big time on both of the end of chapter 17 battles... gotta be better for chapter 18...

This whole portion being a major curveball to everyone who played the OG was wild. Definitely other changes throughout the game, but did not expect any of this stuff to come at us. Super fun though

For real, how are you a store that ONLY SELLS PEPPER, but you don't have any pepper! I kind of loved that grid dungeon. My OCD got to go through it and get ALL THE THINGS!

I picked Erik, the other peeps had their names given. Some of the thief designs looked way older too. 😆

For real, the battles are wild in this game. Definitely feels like the OG when it comes to the battles and difficulty curve. Gonna be a lot of grinding here.

I took so many screenshots this chapter. It really was a good one once you got through Hojo's lab. Hojo is THE WORST followed closely by the freaking Sledgeworms. I absolutely hated fighting the sledgeworms... worst enemy in the game.

I understand not having Red as a playable character, but it was still a bit of a letdown not getting to play as the bestest boy! I really can't wait to see more about the Promised Land in parts 2/3.

I thought I remembered talking about that with you WAAAY back when I was playing DQXI last year, but so much has happened in the past year I wasn't 100% sure I was remembering it correctly. Square typically has very pretty games, but the hot streak they are on right now is absolutely insane. Between this, Visions of Mana, FFXVI (I don't care what anyone says, it was incredible!), even Rebirth, and Romancing Saga 2. We've been spoiled lately. The craziest thing is that it is multiple different art styles that they doing. Are you going to stream DQIII or will it be a on your own game?

Haha yeah... I kind of just went with it. Probably not the best way (what else is new with me?), but made it work. Getting true strike with Tifa is a game changer. Probably need to rework all of my materia soon.

Haha I did actually enjoy the extra Mayor Domino stuff. The time they put into character development for even very minor characters is awesome. I don't think I've ever taken the elevator in remake, I guess i need to when I do the hard playthrough just to see what it's like.

The pew pew was strong, but it had major recoil, I almost fell off platforms using it a few times. Probably shouldn't have used it as much as I actually did...

Haha, it reminded me of The Messenger continually reminding me how trash I can be at platforming games sometimes . It was fun, though. I think the final count was in the 50s... 😅

The combat was super fun and flowed surprisingly well. Something with the jump mechanics just felt a little off. Like sometimes he'd just float a bit more than you'd expect. Other than inconsistency on jumping, it played pretty well.

Im going to try to go back and re-edit ep1 to add back in the 4 i missed. I totally face palmed when I saw the 2 skulls when I was editing. Could not believe I missed those ones...

@Mastergame5x haha yeah they definitely tricked you, giving you the melee weapon right before an area where it is practically useless... I thought it was pretty funny that I got through Vlakyrie relatively easily, but I came SUPER close to the game over screen against the dual blast rays. I was sweating in that battle.

It definitely makes more sense that the green one would have that attack. I'm not sure why they gave it to Colos. He (Suses) does have one where he takes off his loincloth and whips you with it. I don't remember him using that one against me in this run, though.

@@THATGUYJO3 Perhaps they didn't give that attack to Suses because if the Messenger was under his belly when he landed, he would've gotten shoved right into his deep belly button, now that would've been awkward 🌀

Haha grats! I feel like I'm super inconsistent on my battles. Like I REALLY struggled with the Sahagin Prince last episode, but had a pretty normal time (not gonna say easy) with Behemoth. I read it off camera... I guess I should probably do that first thing next episode.

They really did a great job of taking a character that was pretty bad in the OG and then turning it to 11 and REALLY making you hate how terrible of a human he was. Have you done your hard mode for the plat yet? Your playthrough on here is regular, right?

Haha those trains were wild. Never actually been on a real train that I can think of. That first try on the boss was wild. I assumed completely wrong. Luckily they gave that hint after you get ded.

Haha, I kind of cracked up when I uploaded this today. Yesterday's upload was Sea of Stars The Coliseum episode. Kind of funny that I did Coliseum episodes back to back. Not actually intentional. Kind of dreading the VR stuff in Shinra HQ, I remember those being way more difficult.
