I guess it is because books are handled so much that track and trace is needed. I had 15 minutes to while away so went into the library just to check out the transport section. Half way up the stairs I was called down by an employee(presumably) and asked for name rank and number so I just said 'I won't bother' and went into the much more crowded Asda where a face covering is enough and nobody bothers about 'physical distancing'. The library was virtually empty. In my innocence I never saw the clipboard by the door but for a 15minute browse I am not going to want to drive X number of kilometres just to get tested because some guy had a temperature in the lib. that day. Anyway, I prefer my own private library!
