He's my favorite Scrooge next to Scrooge McDuck.

It's a great detail how at the start of the movie, Scrooge walks with a cane; yet here he no longer needs it. Nice symbol of how he's not only reformed, but essentially rejuvenated with this new change of heart.

Muppet Christmas Carol is one of those adaptations that is my favorite next to the Alastair Simm version. Michael again really gave a great performance in this movie. He gave a believable Scrooge who was willing to change and do better. This song really makes me cry for some reason. ❤

1:14 is the only line in the song I disagree with, plenty of perfectly nice people have trouble making friends. Source: Personal experience.

This always was and will forever be my favorite Christmas Carol adaptation. There are some other good ones, and they might be more faithful to the source material, but nothing can match the charm of the Muppets version.

How does he manage to buy all those things on Christmas day? Not to mention that the shops should be closed, but wouldn't they be out of stock?

From receiving the scarf from Beaker to giving gifts to all from the mice, to his old school master & Fozziwig, to Fred & his wife along with Michael Caine putting his all into a rare musical performance shows that for all the goofy antics of the Muppets Ebenezer Scrooge has changed for the better & his joy is wonderfully infectious

Easily my favorite version of this classic story! Caine kills it.

It's kind of sad to see the way Fozzie and Sam aged but hey, they're still here! 😅

Whether I see it performed on stage, played on TV, read it, or listen to it on audiobook, the joy of the ending to this story comes through clearly. A story that does that is a true masterpiece of literature. Thank you, Charles Dickens, for writing this. It truly does haunt our homes pleasantly like you wished.
