Don’t use tiny speakers and expect big sound. The use case for these is not loud room filling sound. This is not made for weddings of 200 people. You need a point source speaker system. Don’t blame the speakers because you were using them wrong. They are very niche product for small corporate spoken word and things of that nature

BRO this is a 5 inch woofer top with a 8 inch INCH! Subwoofer! I am glad i have a background in mathematical acoustics. You want big clean sound you need big heavy speakers. I am pretty upset you spent $9,000+ and your rep never told you how disappointing it was going to be for your application. :( I know a RCF TT22A or a 25 with a 15 inch sub should solve your problems

The reason your top got louder when the videographer unplugged has to do with impedance, every speaker does this. This is why I never let videographers plug into my speakers. For a ballroom of that size, I would have used two fill speakers in the back, or a point source system. That system is great for what it is, but a 200 person dance party is not its designed use.

This video and the comments just prove DJ’s know nothing about sound reinforcement. It has nothing to do with the price, You were playing in a giant room with 127db speaker, that’s like putting a 4-cyl engine in a F-150 and complaining about lack of power! People buy iPhone pros and so they think they know how to shop, you don’t! Get 135db 15inch with 18inch sub at half the price and you be good, why the hell does a DJ need the RDNet processing power of a TT+ ? They don’t yet you’re paying for it. You wouldn’t get a Honda civic to haul around lumber and so small speakers are not going to work for you, sorry can’t have both worlds, good gas mileage and heavy hauling power.

You need sound dispersion in a big room, not more volume. Think how a movie theater works. Many speakers delayed vs two huge speakers at the front of the room.

Sounds someone just bought the wrong speakers for the wrong purpose... I read the comments here and yes a 515 and a 808 are not thought to give partypower, deep sob lows and so on... We use a greater number of 515s in our TT+ Range and use it for In- and outfills, with 808 sub you are great set up for doing chilly music at weddings, corporate events and other rather compact events were a good, well defined sound is apreciated, more than high SPL... So looking a that tiny 515s they do pretty well... Talking about sleek and elegant sound reinforcement for DJing... we also have LD Maui 28 G2 and (oh boy) the 44G2 (with an extra sub per side) ... We got away from the RCF Column arrays (EVOX)... Frankly.... we testet the 515s with some bread and butter subs from RCF (705 ASII) that to be honest is a good DJ Setup but shure pricing for that 515s (as all TT+) is as premium products work... u pay for things not everyone hears and can use... U have to use RD-Net, u have to meassure the setup in your current location etc...

Anyone who thinks they will cover and boom a larger size room with a pair of 8" subs and 5" tops... guess what .. IT IS NOT (ever) HAPPENING. I haven't had the chance to even hear these speakers in person, but I know, at a SMALL gig, 75 or 120 people... these things will destroy all the Evolves, Bose, etc... RCF higher end models are no joke. Again .. this small, compact, rockin set up is for Small, tight gigs to squeeze in a corner and knock it outta the park. The end. You want boom, then get some 15s or 18s. Science doesn't lie, kids. ...side note.. if you want REAL boom in a room... get rid of your digital systems. Passive still blows all of this stuff Away 🤘🏻 - just sayin

To be fair, I understand you invested a lotta money based off what you felt was a credible reference, But even still, for an event of this size? I wouldn't have brought such a small footprint of a sound system..IJS, but stilll, NO ONE in the crowd looked disappointed, looks like you rocked that event and that you didn't get the sound results you were expecting from the amount of money you spent....Mannn? They sound good to me.. (I'm researching the subs, looking to buy a used pair) Thanks for sharing... I'm pretty much "Sold" on the subs... At the end of the day classic point source speakers are always the best way to go. Get small, lightweight 10 inch speakers that are easy to lift on poles. Then get 2 powerful single 18 inch subs. Not a dual. If the dual fails, you’re left with no bass at all. If 1 of the 2 subs fail, the other will save the night.

I did look at the TT 515 but man for the price the SPL is only 127, which is the same as the Evolve 50s. The Maui 44s are 132 SPL so its going to throw further and the low end hits you in the chest. Damn! I guess you don't always get what you pay for in this case. I'm also thinking that DJ's need to spread their speakers out further apart instead of having them so close to each other. Do you think that would help? Especially if you're in a huge room. I would think you would at least want the speakers 100 ft apart from each other. You need to cover a room especially if it's large and if it's large it seems to make sense to me that you'd want to spread the speakers out further apart.

@@WWeiss-nv5vz You’re not just paying for the size of the box. If you look at RCF’s box, it’s got RD-Net built into the back which is a HUGE selling point for many people looking to deploy these as front fills for a larger system, and on both the RCF and the Meyer box, you’ve got some fantastic drivers in there, so sonically, they’re incredibly transparent. For someone tuning a rig, having something that is transparent in the box itself, that’s huge. The RCF boxes are incredibly inexpensive for what they do, and while the Meyer boxes are definitely not cheap, both are certainly very impressive. In terms of output, an X20 will get as loud (albeit A-Weighted) as a K12.2 with no problems.

It's easy! You asked them to do what you know they can't do. Using speakers that open 100 degrees horizontally with a peak SPL of 127 dB plus a sub that has a peak SPL of 129 dB is simply the result of naivety or not wanting to fully understand what is written in the technical data sheets. The truth is that many audio systems are used badly, for spaces that are too large, especially compared to the pressure they develop. The 515s must be used with the TTS 15A subs and you will see that the greater power on the low frequencies will make the perceived volume much higher on average and then you will not even push the 515s to clip. Furthermore, the clarity and transparency of reproduction that the 515 and the entire TT series (which is the top of the RCF range) cannot be compared to non-reference products such as Ld system or similar column array system: these products are not used as professional standards while the tt series is. Finally, it is also necessary to understand which files are played on the system and which mixer the signal comes out from: if you use controllers with amateur and non-pro quality sound cards therefore different from djm 900nxs2/djm a9/djm s11 or Rane Mixer, it is probable that a very hi-end pro audio system enhances digital distortion or excessive file compression or poorly dynamic mastering. Quality systems do not accept even little distortions (such as d&b audiotechnik, L Acoustics, Meyersound with which the TT series can compete).
