I've seen a couple of other ideas involving attaching lights to PVC. But this is by far the best way I've seen of attaching the pipes to the house. Thanks so much for the writeup on the website, too. About how far apart do you put the clips?

The first year is a time investment, the second year, you're just giddy about how much time you save! I have done this on two houses and it's so worth it! My icicle lights use to hang all crooked as the gutter clips would get brittle and break off. Not with this! Straight AND not a tangled mess the next year! I also made my own extension cords I ran along with the lights. Strategic placement of plugs and I can run the plug from all my shutter snowflakes up to the plugs along the extension cord. Amazing!!

I'm guessing that maybe it's commonly said in your area. I can't quote chapter and verse, but I associate this with the Bible verse: Let your yes mean yes, and your no mean no. I know the situation isn't a yes/no situation, but I assure you that if you had just said, "I made a mistake and now have a conflict," no one would have questioned your truthfulness or sincerity. It is a week after Christmas and I took our lights down about 2 days ago. I was thinking of ways to put up lights next year, without using a ladder. Going up and down ladder is fine, but I am thinking longer term, and one day, using a ladder might not be so easy. The idea I thought of was very similar to what you are doing, but I was going to cut a slot the length of PVC so that the PVC can sit over the edge of the gutter. Idea would be that I could fashion a pole to maneuver the pvc into place from the ground. I too have a ranch style house, so I think it can be done easily. For the gable end of house, we did not put up lights, we just used one of those light projectors to shine a light display on that end. Thanks for your video!
