It’s illegal in some places because it is super invasive and destroys local ecosystems. don’t you worry about the impact you’re having on the plant and animal life around you? Just because it is beautiful doesn’t mean you should be growing them or giving them away for free. Please reconsider this.

So I have a question so there’s a local pond with water hyacinth and most of the pond is crowded with it but I notice it doesn’t have the air pockets stems just straight stems like in your video but there a small stream connected to the pond that is shaded and always has flow the water hyacinth over there are dwarfed out and have have the air pocket stems so the question why is the water hyacinth in the stagnant pond have regular stems while the water hyacinth in the small stream dwarfed and have air pocketed stems

Hey Joe, so I'm going to order some dwarf papyrus from you and plan to put it in a rail planter that secondarily serves as a waterfall to a small container pond. Right now, the rail planter has just a sponge filter in it to help clean the pond. There's about an inch or two of water that circulates above the sponge, but can be made more if need be. Anyway, what do you recommend for substrate and how deep does it need to be in the substrate? I plan to use a meshed pond basket that sits in the planter rail with low circulating water at the very bottom of the basket (0-2" as you said, I think). Also don't want to cloud my water. Thanks, and P.S., just ordered a Drop 'n Grow Lily from you and it's arriving today!
@Chalily4 ай бұрын
Since you're planting in a waterfall box you should probably use fired clay since it won't cloud the water. Microb-lift planting media would be the most common option available.

As the plant continues to grow upwards some of the lower leaves fall off. It's part of the natural cycle of growth.

How does it hold up with snow?
@Chalily5 ай бұрын
It depends on the strength of the netting and amount of snow in your area. If you expect a lot of snow in your neck of the woods adding more conduit for support and heavy duty netting should do the trick.

How fast does it spread and fill out? I put a few stems in my bog today.
@Chalily5 ай бұрын
It depends on your sunlight / water temp. Parrot's feather is a pretty fast grower. If you wanting to fill more space you can take cuttings and plant the cuttings to bulk up your area.

I wish the QR code that you guys give actually redirected to something directly related to the purchase and on the purchase for example, the giant sensitive plant (just received today. Not my first by all means, but my first from your company). Would be great if you could make your information videos a little longer and more detailed. Maybe include a little bit more information about what to expect for/while reviving after shipment. Should it be placed in the pond immediately or should it be put inside and slowly acclimate outside? What was the prior water condition and soil it was in, that could help with either slow pond activation, or if it needs to completely acclimate from tap or distilled water into water. If green-housed, the humidity variation between your greenhouse and almost every zone, will always be completely different, and of course, very from zone to zone, 11, 8, 9 and then A or B, etc. Experiencing and look forward to more purchases and information ! :)

Can you store in the fridge? I live in an apartment so there's just heated apartment or outside. And outside gets well below freezing.

Don't store in the fridge. It would be best to store in a cool dark place like a basement but a closet or cupboard works well also.

I bought and planted several canna for the first time last year. One of them had to be this type. It looked just like that with the dual color flowers and leaves. It got really tall too. I was amazed by the dual color flowers. Really beautiful! I saved all the rhizomes over winter in the garage and replanted them at the beginning of May this year. It's got shoots coming up so hopefully it continues to do well and I can grow more of them. One thing I noticed about this one was that it didn't produce any seeds. Does that mean it is a hybrid? I would guess so since it looks like it can't decide which colors to produce.
@Chalily5 ай бұрын
So cool! Maybe yours are a natural hybridization!
