I'm very sorry but actually this tune is boring a little bit don't know why. 1st trumpeter also played perfect and 2nd trumpeter didn't give up to do the best I liked it. But I guess there is some big problem from the orchestra. They look like don't have any passion and baroque spirit or didn't like to play this concerto. I felt it they are not happy.

I attended a concert the other day where Alexandra Whittingham (guitar) and Matilda Lloyd (trumpet) played together (Britten, John Dowland, Toru Takemitsu, Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel, Faure and de Falla - it was pretty good. I had never heard these two instruments together, and it is nice to be able to hear more of this unusual pairing here. Thank you!

Started beautifully, tight and crisp, then I have to say that I took a dislike to mr Merkelo (I believe, the trumpetist on the left)'s showboating. The beauty of this concerto is partially into the frolic and dialogue between the two trumpets, which I think is a bit lost on him.

Mr. Merkelo is one of the finest orchestral trumpet players. It is fun to hear this fine live solo performance from him. I am almost glad that Tartini did not write a trumpet concerto, since we get hear and play a much more brilliant work than he would have composed for the natural trumpet, and are not so concerned about matching the timbre of the baroque trumpet. M. Andre's brilliant recordings from the late 1960's, which introduced the range and facility of the piccolo trumpet and the possibility of turning baroque sonatas and concerti for violin, flute and oboe into new trumpet repertoire, revolutionized the art of classical trumpet solo playing.
