Your retrieval is pretty consistent at ding. Single jig/twitch with slow reel in. That the most successful for you?

I like that you keep it simple and fish from a paddle kayak. Many channels fish from pedal kayaks or kayaks with motors, fish finders, power poles, etc. Nice to see someone keeping it simple and catching fish. My son and I also fish from inexpensive kayaks not designed for fishing and we have a blast.

Man, a pedal drive kayak would make a huge difference my man. I got tired of fighting fish and the mangroves at the same time. Finally "bit the bullet" and bought one. Best decision EVER! Love the videos. Keep'um comin'
@SanibelMan
@SanibelMan 2 ай бұрын
I have been fighting that decision for a while lol. I consistently have the internal battle of paying up for a pedal kayak or to go full send with a small boat + motor... I think the time is coming soon. Thank you so much for the support brother!!

Hey I'll be visiting sanibel tomorrow and Wednesday and plan on renting a kayak and fishing tarpon bay, any recommendations can i ask what bait that is you're using, and it's it worth it for me to get live bait and any chance i can hook into tarpon? Loved the video appreciate any tips!
@SanibelMan
@SanibelMan 3 ай бұрын
I tend to use artificial lures, specifically paddle tails and artificial shrimp (DOA is the brand I tend to go with). If you don't have a ton of experience fishing with those in the area, buying live shrimp (I buy mine from Whitney's Bait and Tackle) is a good idea. I've seen some tarpon there, but super frequently but there is definitely a chance! Good luck!!!

What brand of Reel are you willing to dunk in saltwater? I have Battle II by Penn and wouldn't think of it. However, I've been using them for four years in WI and FL and there's never been any intrusion. I lost 4 of my "saltwater" reels that I kept in our shed to Ian. Sure glad I haul my Penns back-and-forth.
@SanibelMan
@SanibelMan 5 ай бұрын
I've probably only ever done that one other time, unless they're salt protected its not worth it. Mine is a live bottom reel, I made sure to pour water on it immediately and have been consistent with spraying it with reel spray as well. What you are doing with your penns is the way to go!

@SanibelMan

thank you so much!! Beach fishing can get super complicated, but I like to simplify it with either fishing with artificial lures (like the shrimp lure from the video or paddle tails) or live shrimp on a bobber. At least to start! Hope this helps!!

I enjoy your videos and look forward to more of them when I'm back next January. I appreciate your monologue that's not filled with "bro" and "dude" and swearing. Just the facts. speaking facts, what is the brand of the white paddletail that you're using? Are you throwing a 1/4 ounce or 1/8 ounce jig head? What Hook do you like for cut bait? Thanks.
@SanibelMan
@SanibelMan 5 ай бұрын
Thank you so much!!! I use the DOA cal shad 3 inch paddle tail with a 1/8 ounce jig head. And for cut bait, I've been using a mutu light circle hook 4/0 size. Hope this helps!!!

I have had good luck with that same tail. Most of the time I'm using Slayer SST 3 1/2 inch. They Wiggle better than most with a slow retrieve when reviewed by Salt Strong. They are also scented. I have yet to see them in a store so I order them direct.
