If the machine - any flux core machine - you are thinking of buying doesn't have a method to adjust arc-force as well as amps/volts (and preferably) wire speed, then it's going to disappoint. Most have 2 knobs & a way to set chosen wire diameter - 1 knob does amps, the other does volts. There's generally a button to set diameter. That's it. Better machines have an extra button - it switches the volts knob over to arc-force adjustment, generally from -5 through 0 up to +5. That's the most important setting for flux-core, but 90% of machines do not have it. Which sadly makes them crap. The 10% of machines that do have that adjustment are worth their weight in gold. You adjust arc-force more than any other setting when welding flux-core - I leave my machine on the same amps/volts (the lowest it goes) & only adjust arc-force to suit material thickness. Wrong arc-force setting, machine no weldy-weldy.. so if you can't adjust that parameter, you're kinda screw**d.. Buy one that can. Thank me later. How often do I run flux core? All day every day all year, for a living. -5 arc force is quite a gentle arc - won't blow holes. +5 arc force is a ferocious arc that will dig deep in thicker steel, but blow holes for fun in thin material, both regardless of your other settings. Kinda fundamental to be able to adjust that, right? If you can't, you have already lost the battle. There is also only one diameter of flux core wire - regardless of how many are on offer. That diameter is 1mm. Not 0.8mm, not 0.9mm, not 1.2mm - 1mm. When you go to buy wire, say "I would like 1mm wire please" (or the US equivalent 0.039) and accept no other diameter. Flux core works best as 1mm wire - manufacturing reasons. Trust me on that. Doesn't matter what thickness steel you are welding.. 1mm/0.039 wire. Wind amps/volts to the lowest setting & adjust arc-force to suit the material. Suddenly the process starts making a lot more sense - as does machine choice. From then on, you will only adjust arc-force. You will never go near amps or volts, regardless of what you are welding - or wire feed speed for that matter.

I would add, I'd buy a machine in a heartbeat that was factory set to 1mm wire only, had no amp/volt adjustments possible as it was factory set to "Minimum" on both (12/65 ideally), had synergic wire feed speed control (they all do) & had one control only - really precise Arc force with a really broad range. I wouldn't care who made it, what colour it was, I'd buy it. Take my money. The ideal flux core machine is exactly that - but nobody makes one. The one control knob dream flux core machine. Simple - but seemingly impossible. Odd. It's how you know the designers seldom have to weld for a living - they obsess over the amps/volts - neither of which matter.

Ya I understand that but some people have limited money and if I can help others find a good reliable product that works great then more power to them on buying it. I know there's a lot out there that's better but if we can find a honest review on a cheap good item then why not help?

@@jamesward5721 I agree with you. I got a few welders now but I got one I call Big Red and it's blows away a lot I've seen under $200. I believe I did a review. Litake 3 in 1 welder. On 110v it's wicked.

Very informative bro. Had help me understand the assembly.. Too bad for mine as it doesnot have the depth adjusting screw.. Guess I had to cut the locking part of the mechanism to go some more lower..

I'm glad it was semi helpful. I seen there were a couple different types. Hopefully I can put mine to use more with the weather breaking. Thanks for the support.

Hi man, its posible to block it in an specific height?. I mean, just use the sliders to make a cut in X direction, with same Z height, like a groove
@MadWeldz4 ай бұрын
the cutting hieght is adjustable so cutting like a groove should work out.
@KetansaCreatesArtАй бұрын
I guess you cannot tighten it at a certain height position. The spring will take it up all the time, no locking nut. But as he mentioned you will have to use the height stopper screw at the side. In that way you will have to press it but it will stop at the adjusted height. Or is you want to run something through without touching the handle, you can diy a wooden blocks under the lever and tie the handle with a wire fasten it into the hole at the base to make it stay at a desired position.

How big of square tubes it can cut
@MadWeldz5 ай бұрын
you can probabaly cut up to 2" tubes. might have to roate the tube once but it will be a nice cut.
