That’s a big part of what’s so fun about this hobby for sure. How did your season go by the way?
@thegrandadmiral79635 күн бұрын
@@nicksbigpumpkin8050 Hi Nick! I actually did fairly well, considering it was my first year actually trying to grow a big pumpkin. Last year, I grew a modest 70-pounder. This year, I took a 320-pounder to a weigh-off! I have a bigger one, but it got a bad case of sunscald and the skin is moldy and the flesh has started to rot. I only have a bathroom scale at home, so I'm going to try cutting the pumpkin into pieces and weigh it that way! I'm hoping for 400 pounds. I had a few other pumpkins, but various factors meant I was never going to be able to grow much. I'm currently growing the vines out onto the lawn rather than in a true patch, and the soil is very clayey, so the roots don't grow too well. My hope is to find a little piece of land of my own in a few years where I'll have the space to really let my plants go wild! Also, less squirrels would be nice. The little monsters are chewing the leaves off of my vines!

the fan is also for transpiration. you won't see strong growth if the plants cannot properly move nutrients and water through them from the roots to the leaves too hot for lion's mane to fruit, the soil you have the pumpkins in is FULL of trichoderma, that mushroom bag never stood a chance once you cut it open. Try again, hydroponically this time. more efficient nutrient delivery, less chance of fungus gnats, soil holds onto water waaay too long in a grow tent, if you sterilize the grow tent beforehand and regularly wash things you can totally fruit oyster mushrooms in there.
