Yes! As the IB website says, "The language ab initio course is a language acquisition course for students with no prior experience of the target language, or for those students with very limited previous experience." I did take a semester of basic Spanish in middle school but by the time I started the IB program I had forgotten most of it, so I was almost starting from scratch.

Thanks for the feedback! I didn't spend as much time on it as my HL subjects. I remember using Anki flashcards where on one side I asked myself questions in the style of IB exam questions, especially the longer ones that begin with "Explain" or "Describe" that are found at the end of the paper (if I remember correctly...). On the other side I would write bullet points of all the key steps of the biological process that I'd want to include in an exam response. Writing these flashcards for all the major topics and biological processes was helpful review itself, but it was especially when I tested myself without glancing at the bullet points that I found gaps in my understanding of this process and made note of what I'd want to revisit. I think I tested myself on several of these questions on most days of the preceding month, and nearer the exam, I'd highlight the questions and topics that I knew were tricky for me and shift the focus to those more. For MCQs and the analysis types of questions, doing exam-style papers under timed conditions helped a lot. I don't remember the exact time I spent, but with a strategic approach one can make the most of the time one has, and that's what matters. You've got this!!

Haha I definitely wasn't super consistent (it's a struggle!). But I did try to fit it in here and there, like conjugating verbs in my head while sitting in the bus on my way home, or journaling several sentences in Spanish on what I did that day…writing (attempting to) makes me actively put into practice the material, and it’s a way to test myself on whether I really know how to use it or only am vaguely familiar with it. The present tense conjugations are pretty quick to understand, and then it’s a matter of reviewing and applying it to various verbs and contexts, and seeing whether I can actually use it! In general Spanish verb conjugations are quite predictable, and yes there are a few irregular ones that don't fit the pattern and need to be committed to memory. If you have a textbook, maybe that could help in guiding yourself through grammar essentials? Textbooks probably also have short example passages that go along with a lesson, so you could test yourself in various ways with those, e.g., while reading the passage, every time I come across a verb, ask myself, what conjugation/tense is this? Or, let me try conjugating it in the other forms (yo/tú/usted él ella/nosotros(as)/vosotros(as)/ustedes ellos(as)). Testing yourself can actually be fun:) And doesn't have to be long, even 10 min a day (and it won't seem that daunting because you've broken the big problem into small manageable chunks). It’s not too late yet to catch up, plus you have the summer! You can do this! Let me know if you have more questions:)

Heyy sorry for the late reply! To organize my revision it really helped me to make a word doc with a chart that has all the topics/theories, and for each, the possible exam questions (LAQs and SAQs). Then, for each question (or sub-topic), I picked the research studies I plan to use to answer it. This chart can then work like a checklist to keep track of which topics I still need to revise more on, and what sub-topics fall under each. I don't have my notes with me right now but let me know if you have more questions on specific topics and I'll try my best to answer them!

It really does depend on your current level, but here are just a few places where u might find short texts to read. I tended to just do a quick search on google and find random short articles that look interesting from websites like 121spanish.com/i-readings and spanish.kwiziq.com/learn/reading As for stories, ¡Viva el toro! was interesting and I found it suitable for my level, or another option could be to try children's fables and short stories such as from An Elementary Spanish Reader by E. S. Harrison (which is available free on the Project Gutenberg at www.gutenberg.org/files/22065/22065-h/22065-h.htm ). Hope this helps!
