Hypnotised from the start to the end. This is the nearest we have to a time machine. It is like he's possessed playing that flute and his timing is so tight, too. I think the flute possessed him :)

How many of us started playing flute because of Ian? Thank you Jim Skura (band director) for introducing me to Jethro Tull.

Whoever you are I truly thank you for posting this. I was giving up on the flute and my uncle showed this specific song to me and rekindled my love of the instrument; now I'm still playing in college. so thank you whoever you are.

This is my recording made when I played with your dad, Emma ,in the band. Last time I saw him was after he returned from London and we met up to see Tubby Hayes playing in Manchester. I lost contact so would love to speak to you if there is any way to make contact.

Is the juglar style "leg up" (flamingo pose, someone said below) somewhat helpful for the flute play? Perhaps a posture that helps with the breathing or something? Or is it purely for aesthetic purposes?
@PatchyGroundFog6 ай бұрын
I read an interview that said he used to play harmonica before flute and would put his leg up and rest it against the mic stand for balance. When he switched to flute, he just kept it.

No matter how many times hearing and seeing this song, it's like the first time. Simply amazing . on a personal note; Ian, sorry about accidentally knocking your pipe out of your hand that time in Denver. It truly was accidental.
