In 1977 my quarry got a 988-B to replace the 988-A pit loader. It was truly like getting out of a VW and getting into a Cadillac! I was a oiler-Operator on an Bucyrus-Erie 88-B and after operating the 988-B I should have known that the cable shovel's days were numbered. A few years later and there wasn't a cable shovel in any quarry in Georgia!!!
