I noticed on anything aside from Metrolink station indicators that there is absolutely NO mention of the word "Metrolink" inside of the trams and no mention of "Metrolink" on the "Bee Network" wrapped tram.

Good evening Many thanks for your comment. We had already noticed - hence the comment in the preamble as, once the video is posted it cannot be edited. This is the first time, we believe, where the camera has switched itself on whilst walking from one filming point to the next.

Nice to see the development so far. Still think that too much priority Is given to vehicles. So much regeneration could be happening in Wolverhampton getting rid of street level parking and building medium rise 5 - 8 storey apartment blocks with ground floor amenities such as shops and gyms.

@@peterpowis4145 as soon as I can, I will. I see a lot more track has been laid and that tram stops are now in place at Black Country Museum/Dudley Castle & Zoo, at Dudley town centre and at Flood Street. The bus and metro interchange is coming on as well. Track bed from Dudley Castle down to Great Bridge is also motoring and, of course the Government has now approved and funded to Brierley Hill. If I cannot get there this month, my daughter and son-in-law will, weather-permitting film it on Sunday 17th November.

Thank you very much. Filming the buses was secondary on the day as we w to Liverpool Cathedral to hear the maestro, Professor Ian Tracey playing the 98th anniversary organ recital and using the Echo organ bank for the first time. It was spectacular.

@@librarian16 the first one is just 723 going to Blackpool North railway station. The second video is a fuller version with additional material covering other trams out on the day. One would have thought you would watch one or the other, not both. I do not understand what you mean about effects but it has come out really well here. Tony has done a really good job whilst I am away. You are the first dissenting voice but I appreciate your criticism, constructive or otherwise.

Manchester Metrolink is a good transport, but I think it would be better and much faster if it was underground in the center of the city. Outside the center it would be overground like now but only when it runs totally separated of other traffic.

I will admit that it is a good idea. But the councils future plans have ripped apart everything that I remember from my childhood. They demolished the hippodrome, the bus station, cavendish house. Farmfoods. And I will never forgive the council for that

@@bigyy-v6n i had never noticed that. There are quite a few sharper curves in Wolverhampton and the track is, of course, very new! The trams, especially the Urbos 3s, squeal a lot more too!

Mike it me shiv. I just wanted to let you know my iPhone 15 pro was stolen yesterday at Wednesbury parkway by one boy lad he used small knife on me and he accidentally cut me on the arm. Lots of blood came out on the Metro. Came to give me first-aid and assist me at Wednesbury. Great Western Street. Every aspect from timetabling & required resources to the incomplete terminus itself gives the impression that they were somewhat caught off guard that the extension was finally going to open after protracted delays. The business case actually discounted “All Via North Station” and I have to say I question the logic in it been used as anything other than a short-term sticky plaster. To justify retention of the Tramway it needs to move towards realising the frequency outlined in the upgrade business case & subsequent extension business case. It needs to start quickly achieving them figures and that can only be achieved by actually having capacity on track (not simply sat in the shed)

@@lincolnblackcat but the point I was and am making was that, apart from a few glitches on destination displays and timetable displays, the service worked much better with everything via the station. Agreed, the justification for two additional trams (017 & 018) was made on the grounds of a much more frequent service but the customer numbers at the time were pre- covid19. As more and more people use the Tramway, I am sure the service frequency will increase. Simply running a much greater frequency in the hope that numbers will come back is, absolutely definitely, folly!

You must also remember that a business case is always based on value judgments (best guesses) before reality. Blackpool Transport in the post Covid world must make its business case on real figures and feedback. They are doing an excellent job through a very professional senior management team.

Cracking video as always Michael, the revised service pattern certainly seemed well received from passengers and made the extension come alive too with trams every few minutes up and down Talbot Road. As you say, this being the full time service pattern cant come soon enough.

I was last in Rochdale for the first time just before the lockdowns were fully implemented in 2020, having lived in Manchester since 2002 and it is a lovely town and the people are lovely - I’m very much looking forward to returning to the town again very soon and to find out how the people of Rochdale are coping with the post-Covid era, as it has gone totally nuts in my native Ireland
