Same boat friend. I too just switched from Samsung to iPhone. The main reason I didn't go for iPhone earlier was Apple using a proprietary charger turned me off. Now Apple is using USB C, I bite the bullet and got the iPhone 16 Pro. I'm finding it more responsive, easier to use than my previous Samsung.

Welcome to iPhone. You definitely chose quite the time to switch over with iOS 18 being such a major release, and therefore sadly a bit of a buggier one as a result. My first iPhone was the 3G and over the years I had several iPhones and several androids. The past 4 years I was on android but just a week ago I switched back to iPhone. Got myself a new 13 also in white and I love it. I’m staying on iOS 17 for a while until 18 is fully backed. As a former IT Tech you learn to never use any software in production that’s not fully ready yet. Especially critical systems. But give it another 6 months and the kinks should be worked out. iOS is very different from android but once you get used to it you’ll be happy. And if you have a Mac and get a Watch, you’ll have a really great ecosystem. Not to mention services like Music, TV, Arcade etc. enjoy! 😊

Thanks! I've never shied away from being on the cutting edge -- so bugs don't bother me all that much. 🐛 Really happy with the switch so far! P.S. I already got the Apple Watch 10. I'll get the MacBook Pro eventually, but I have some work to do with cleaning up and consolidating my Windows / Google services first.

It may not be wise to put ALL the photos into iCloud. Perhaps consider storing them on an external hard drive and just copy over the most important ones you always want access to.

i switched to iphone for the first time last week. previously i used 4 android and 1 windows phone devices, androids for 10 and wp for 2 years. my last phone was a redmi note 10 pro and i switched to an iphone 12. yes both have their ups and downs but upsides of iphone was stronger and made me switch. how strong you might ask, not having a 120hz display was a dealbreaker for me but now i'm happier with my 60hz iphone 12. nevertheless i will soon switch to a 120hz pro model since every other device i use are also 120hz and although the expreince is smoother, 60hz sometimes hurts my eyes.

Thanks for sharing! It's a laundry list of phones from me as well. My first smartphone was the Droid Incredible. I think I had an Android phone from every major manufacturer, and I tried Windows Phone out as well. Those Nokia cameras were no joke! Happy with the switch so far!

iPhone widgets are better but no transparency widgets that’s super annoying.

I'm an iPhone user and still using Google Photos. I was using Google contact list as the source of my contact app but transferred them over to iCloud after I noticed the contact changes didn't synch across my other devices such as MacBook, and iPad.

Hi, same attitude here, although.. after initial transition of allllll the data from my Android, which was surprisingly fluid and got really everything delivered into my iphone,.. two days passes and I'm running into multiple bugs in contacts app, in messages app, in calendar app, and it seems like bugs are multiplying. Spent a couple of hours on the phone with apple service, nothing worked so far, now they told me to backup the iphone, erase it, format it and then restore and start all the settings configuration over 🥴. Ios18. 1 on iphone 13 PM.

1)Contacts app would open on specific contact each time (this one seemingly solved). 2) exiting that contact and the upper area of the app started to flicker. 2)Then, contacts app crash each time I chose "link contacts". 3) Events in calendar appear twice or three times. Some of those fixed after I deleted other calendars sync from Google, but others which originate from some subscription calendars in the past are stuck and deleting google and it's subscription calendars didn't help. 4) red badges with number of missed calls/ unread messages are stuck on those apps on homescreen, with ridiculous numbers, nothing helped so far. Again, I was advised to backup and do reformatting to the iPhone, but haven't yet had the time and energy to do so, dreading the moment when I'll need to do all the settings over again 🥴

Awesome! Let me know your thoughts when it comes in. There's an adjustment with some things, but I'm enjoying it so far. Lots of small (but great) features I had no idea about.

I didn't't realize the Quest defaulted to such a low recording resolution until after recording the video. It's unfortunate since the jump in quality didn't translate to KZbin as well as I hoped it would. A lesson learned for next time.

Lol, he said it's not even the same game. You can't really tell the difference from a YT video. If you would try it out, you would instantly see it.

bro are you insane the quest one is so much worse than the quest 3. there are so many more upgraded features, more games you can play, and from a yt video its hard to see a difference in the graphics. quest 1 to quest 3 is the best upgrade ever

The visual jump definitely didn't come across as much in this recording, and in hindsight I probably shouldn't have used the Quest's built in video capture. The Quest 2 was fine, but everything from latency to graphics were significantly better in the Quest 3. Thanks for watching.
