@Keithy_W5 күн бұрын
G’day mate It’s difficult to say exactly what might suit you in such a short period of time. The hard part will be getting the work in the first place (as you’ll have to fight all other people applying) and then spending the time training and skilling. If you can get skilled before coming in to work, that will give you a much better change to get employment. I don’t know much about the VISA system, but I can tell you that it’s hard to get a job in the mines for such a short period of time.

How do you remove a tyre from the programming? I have the Masten with the smaller screen and now that I have my spare programmed it automatically shifts between views of the main four and the spare and that's really annoying! I'd rather not have the spare programmed and have just the main four displayed at all times but can't figure out how to remove it from programming.
@Keithy_W19 күн бұрын
G’day mate, it sounds like it’s being a pain! If you’re wanting to stop it from the two screen (looking at the spare), I’ll have to take a look myself as I have put the view on, but never taken it off later. If I have a try at doing it, I will let you know. It may also be on this video here: Masten TPMS - Making Tyre Rotation EVEN EASIER with the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System? Keith, can i work as a fifo on a student visa? Loke during breaks?
@Keithy_W29 күн бұрын
G’day mate, to be honest I’m not sure if that’s possible. It’s a bit above my knowledge (the visa setup). During your breaks you need to base in Aus, but can holiday wherever, as long as you’re at work when you need to be. They will sack you if you’re overseas and get stuck coming back to site without them knowing about it.

Hey Keithy. Im a Boily from South Africa. Is there FIFI work on the mines focusing more on fabrication? My eyes aint what they used to be for welding. What range of salary could I expect? (5 yrs experience) PS: Great video!!
@Keithy_WАй бұрын
G’day mate, good to hear from you. As a fabrication worker you would probably be closer to a fitter/turner type role. That’s a good start for your searches. As long as you have the necessary lenses if you wear glasses, and can see well enough to work and drive, you should be ok. It’s hard to say what kind of salary you would get, given the jobs and locations vary so much. It would be over 100k easily, but I would be silly to try and estimate exactly.

Hey Keith, thanks for all the great info! I just made spacers and am in the process of fixing the arms for the height sensors. I have two questions for you. 1. After adding the spacers today and driving around, I'm getting a decent amount of vibrations. I got new tires (275,65,18) a couple of weeks ago and they weren't causing vibrations after being balanced so I'm wondering what could be giving these vibrations. 2. My EAS was dancing constantly airing out and filling the rear. I pulled the height sensors and checked them with an analog voltage meter and they both seem good. When i say constantly, I mean the car is either moving up or down with it being level for 1 second in between. What could be causing this? It's a 1996 SE btw. Thanks!
@Keithy_WАй бұрын
G’day mate, it’s good to hear from you. I’ll answer your questions as best I can. 1. It’s possible that you have some bushes in need of replacement, and perhaps even a wheel alignment. With the suspension system on the P38, the suspension bushes move separate direction as the axles lift (well, the body and chassis lift, in order to lift the suspension), and this can cause the vibrations you’re experiencing. 2. I’m not sure if you have extended the air lines from the axles at all? That’s very important to prevent tearing/ripping the air lines. If that’s ok, what it sounds to me is that possibly you have an air leak somewhere forcing the compressor to have to start more frequently to do its job. It also sounds like the EAS may need a tune-up. Do you know how to do a suspension height tune? You’ll need plenty of fuel and time to give it a chance to adjust and level. There’s also the option of a height sensor issue too - keep that one in mind. I hope I’ve been of some help! Keithy

I know this is an old video but I just bought these for my GMC sierra 1500. But that feathering you talk about, I had a 2005 GMC sierra 2500 duramax and I had the km2, Toyo open country m/tt, Yokohama geolander a/ts and the last ones I. Had were the ko2 and I had the exact issue with all of them. The front tires every second lug was lower or higher than the one behind it. Then just rotated and they would square back up. I have seen the same thing on my friends vehicles with different brands of tires and no one could ever figure out why they would do that. I had a set of the ko2 on this newer truck and I didn’t notice it but it is a different suspension on the 1500 than the 2500 with a diesel. So I would guess it’s just the type of suspension and as long as you keep them rotated, I never had an issue. They just square back up when put on the rear.🍻
