G’day mate, I could say yes to that one, but there are mixed reports on the wages of the mining camp wages as a lot (if not most) mines are operated by the agencies, and not the mines themselves. Thank you for the kind words 👍🏻

I’m interested in doing fifo, but I’ll be coming from the US. What are my chances of getting a job at a mine? Got 4 years experience in mining and 6+ in equipment operating. Any response is great, Thanks!
@Keithy_W2 күн бұрын
G’day mate, it’s your skills and ability that’ll get you a job in the mines here in Australia, do provided your skills are up to scratch on the tools and machinery, you’re just as likely to get a job here as anyone else. It sounds to me like you have great skills.

ok honestly i’m keen but i do have one question, earning what you do each year how much do you lose in tax ?? i imagine that by pumping so many hours and pay each week the tax man would have a super keen eye on your wallet 😂
@Keithy_W4 күн бұрын
Good question mate. The tax amount that you’ll pay is based on how much you earn. There are tax rates you can find online, but I’ll put them down for you. If your income is: >18,200 then there’s no tax taken from the income 18,200 - 45,00 = 16% tax for every $1 over 18,200 45,000 - 135,000 = 30% tax for every $1 over 45,000 plus $4,288 135,000 - 190,000 = 37% tax for every $1 over 130,00 plus $31,288 190,000 and above = 45% tax for every $1 over 190,00 plus $51,638 The tax man doesn’t mind getting his share, but the good thing is you can use mining tools and equipment at tax time for an offset on your tax return. I hope I didn’t screw up that data then lol, it’s the latest stuff I could find.

@@Keithy_W nah dude that’s brilliant information so thank you very much 🤘🏻… i’ve done most of my heavy machinery licenses like front end loaders, excavator, skied steer and dump truck but i go back for the standard 11 in november and from there i just need to find someone to take me on, the general plan is to commit to 5 years minimum(trying to buy a home) doing 1 month on and 1 week off but if i can find a way to bring my wife along for the ride we agreed to stay for a minimum of 7 years and i can work way more, if it wasn’t for her i wouldn’t need as much time off so bringing her feels like a good solution 😂… i’m definitely new to this industry but i’ll do anything it takes to get there and then work my ass off, i’m currently a tattoo artist of 16 years but i’m not shy to hard yards and long hours so the biggest hurdle i think is just getting my foot in the door, if need be i’ll work as utility for a year or 2 to prove my worth i don’t mind… so, i would take any tips or advice given to me and if you have any recommendations on where a complete beginner should let me know 🤘🏻🙏🏻

@Keithy_W6 күн бұрын
Cheers mate. Most (if not all) mines should be able to help you get your stuff to site. You can contact them to organise them before you head out there, likewise by talking with the airline to organise it from airport.

I guess the lazy solution would be to throw four 6mm push fot Schrader valves in your toolkit. If you have a problem just pop the hoses out of the valve block, push on the valves and pump them up. Not as convenient if you have a problem however.

G’day mate, that will all depend on what kind of work you plan on doing. If you want to operate machinery, you can follow jobs that will give you machinery tickets. Likewise if you want to work underground, you can chase jobs in that directions too.

@Keithy_W29 күн бұрын
If you can massage the inter guards you should be right. Mine has standard guards, with a little heating to keep the front edges off the guards. Others I’m still running all guards and edges, no scratching or rubbing. I run standard offset guarding as well.

Did you have to do any cutting to have the 33's on?

So i cant be f*cked with cancelled flights and stuff ? I hope you read this🙏♥️🫣 btw i REALLY like your video's and your info is legit something i'm using to learn about it🙏
@Keithy_WАй бұрын
G’day mate That’s correct mate. Your employer will pay to cover the cost of flying to wherever the mine is, in 98% of the mines in Australia. You’ll be flown back home (in Australia) for your week off work (or whatever your roster may be). They will not pay for you to fly overseas though, and they won’t hire people who do not live in Australia. You may need to look into VISA info too, I’m not sure with the working visa where you are. Cheers mate 👍🏻
@user-fh1oz1qg6yАй бұрын
@@Keithy_W so its not possible from belgium or are you not sure (because you don't know the whole work visa part yourself? Or) because i REALLY wanna try to land a job in the mines! I work already 13-16 hours a day in geothermal drilling and also worked as a rope access technician....i will do alot to secure a job like this🫣 (thanks for the answer btw mate🙏)
@Keithy_WАй бұрын
You would need to live and work in Australia in order to work in the mining industry. Once you have your VISA work permit (which I don’t know about personally), then you can apply for work in Australia. If we were to hire anyone and everyone from everywhere, Australia would be a sell out and there’d be no national work trade!

@Keithy_W2 ай бұрын
G’day mate, good to meet you. You’re in a good position already having experience on the excavator, good work. That’s one of the hard parts. The other hard part is VISA related, and getting approved to work in Australia. That, I cannot help with. Once you have sorted the VISA though, then you can begin looking for work and finding your job. It should be reasonably easy given your experience with the excavator already, but you can search for other machinery related training and jobs in the meantime to boost your chances of finding work.
