I visited the British Library archives and asked to see something written by the 17th-century diarist Samuel Pepys. They brought me a letter to someone about some business between him and Pepys. I'd read the diaries in print, but never felt the reality of Pepys as I did being alone with that one page. Even viewing such items in glass cases doesn't stir the same feelings.

I’m currently writing a seminar paper on the front cover of the Lindau Gospels with extended focus on the crucifixion iconography. I wanted to express my thanks to the Morgan Library Museum for the excellent work of research, preservation and restoration they do for their collection. It has provided a lot of help during my research and I’m glad that these precious artifacts are not only being preserved in such a careful manner, but that the Library is also very engaged to share them with the world and make them accessible for researchers and friends of art history.

Symposium | Perspectives on Dutch Drawings, Part 2 1630pm 6.11.24 what have we learnt? not much in regards to what was thought about landscapes... man made "ruins", natural ruins, ruins created due to religious strife or war... all worthy of detailing in pen & ink or paint... only interesting in so much as they create an archive ( and excellent references as art students are tasked with guessing man-made ruin, naturally evolved ruin or ruins created due to some conflict or other.....

Symposium | Perspectives on Dutch Drawings, Part 1 1603pm 6.11.24 obviously people are interested in art and drawing... but we all have been whittled down to trade and commerce. the dutch nation is based soley on it - the reformation's belief in work trade and free flow of ideas and information etc etc etc... all of these chats, no matter who presents them, no matter what the genre re: use and abuse of the landscape, are generated to present the same ideas with reference to the picturesque or to the natural evolution of the environment....

When a library and museum combine, it creates a unique cultural institution that offers a wide range of benefits. Here's what can happen: *Hybrid Institution: "Libuseum" or "Museolib"* *Benefits* 1. Integrated resources: Access to vast collections of books, artifacts, and exhibits. 2. Enhanced learning: Interactive exhibits and educational programs. 3. Increased accessibility: Single location for diverse cultural and educational resources. 4. Collaborative exhibitions: Interdisciplinary approaches to storytelling and display. 5. Community engagement: Workshops, lectures, and events. *Features* 1. Interactive exhibits showcasing books, artifacts, and digital media. 2. Reading areas amidst exhibits. 3. Art installations inspired by literary works. 4. Author talks and book signings. 5. Hands-on activities and workshops. *Examples* 1. The British Library's exhibitions on literature and history. 2. The New York Public Library's Museum and Library collections. 3. The Library of Congress's exhibitions and interactive displays. *Potential Challenges* 1. Space management. 2. Curatorial collaboration. 3. Collection management. 4. Funding. *Opportunities* 1. Grant funding. 2. Partnerships with educational institutions. 3. Digital engagement and outreach. 4. Community outreach. The combination of a library and museum creates a vibrant cultural hub, fostering learning, creativity, and community engagement!

The greatest lies are mixed with elements of truth. Throw away talk. Art should prompt one to see beyond the current mindset into the past. This was just a couple strong opinions on christian europe thinly veiled with many impressive adjectives. Good luck all.

Absolutely beautiful, thank you Christine. Anne’s two novels are brilliant works and whilst I’m not going to get into rankings I think it’s fair to say they are at least the equal of her sisters’ work. Her poetry is very simple in its language and construction but incredibly powerful and moving. What a shame the Covid hysteria prevented people from viewing the material you have shared. Is any of it currently (October 2024) on display? Thanks again for a superb presentation.

I imagine one day I’ll be walking in Manhattan and see Fran waiting to cross at an intersection. I’ll exchange a pleasantry or ask an irrelevant question. She’ll recover from the affront and with a twinkle in her eye answer disarmingly just as the light changes. I’ll remember it forever and that’ll be that.

The men works so hard to erase women contributions and power in history! Because they can’t accept the fact even though women are physically! Women are stronger than any men combined in thinking and leading! Now we have male leaders governing our world look what happened all chaos! Removing women in power is the downfall of humanity! Years and years have passed no matter how men treated women and eradicated women, making them a slaves to their needs they have no matched to woman’s heart! I think the heaven is full of womens tear thats why he sends Jesus because at that time men wont listen to women! He even reveals secrets only to Mary Magdalene! Not his disciples! Why? Even God won’t trust these men! Who witnessed all his miracles but deny him 3 times! The Mother is coming! If men wont straighten their deeds they will see the ends of relationship and reproduction of children! Nor family! And this will prove to men no matter what they do ! Without women they are nothing but dust!

There’s one quality that I can see from Nello. He’s very polite when talking to adults, even though Cogez and Hans give him a difficult time. He greeds the shop assistant and thanks for giving him a canva. This politeness is deeply valued in Asian culture even today, it’s striking for me that this action could be widely seen in the 19th century of Europe, particularly Flanders, Belgium. However, in the modern era, such gestures are gradually forgotten among Westerners. His little action little action signifies that “even though a person pursues a big dream, he must never omit small details and kindness”, a Chinese proverb. In addition, he also shows piety towards his grandpa, which is considered the root of compassion in Asia.
