I've been committed to a hospital where the wall clock was remote-controlled. Every 60 seconds, it moved the minute hand ... LOUDLY. Practically impossible to get some sleep.

The more conscious about time the less you will spend on screens, this makes perfect sense, I experiment it myself in my life. Amazing experiment :)

Often, unless I'm playing anew piece or a particularly difficult piece for my current skill level, I often find myself actually more starring off into space rather than my hands, focusing more on my memory of how my hands should move and how it sounds rather than on visual confirmation that I'm doing it correctly. Which is why I find it so surreal to watch videos of myself playing, because it seems so magical what my hands are doing and because I'm usually not looking at them 100% of the time.

To be fair, one of the reasons Ralph Nader was running was to bring attention to how flawed the Two Party System is. He wrote a pretty good book about it called Crashing the Party. During the 2004 Presidential campaign I had a SPOILER shirt with the cracked Liberty Bell on it in support of Nader. I think what was most important about his campaign was that he utilized the spotlight to educate kids like me. I remember being so confused because he was a politician - yet I could make sense out of what he was saying?! Up until that point, I had intentionally made it a point to know as little about politicians as possible, and I really didn't care about any of it unless it was something big like war or rights. I thought only huge nerds and old rich people payed attention to that stuff. All the other young adults in the suburb south of Seattle where I lived "weren't into politics", as if POLITICS were a card game or a chosen hobby... One of my favorite quotes is from the documentary The Battle of Chile. The film chronicles the actions of the poor and working class in 1973, in their revolt against repressive government leadership. Many of the citizens did not know how to read, but the people taught each other how just so that they could really examine their constitution and know what their rights were. One man said, "I used to think politics were above me, but now I see that I AM politics". Wouldn't it be nice if everyone understood this truth? Until I heard Ralph Nader talking to John Stewart on The Daily Show, I hadn't understood anything any elected official was talking about. The reason for this is that most the time they arent really saying anything at all. It was all so carefully crafted to be that way. I was transformed instantly. Even though I was a high school drop out and only cared about partying at the time, once I understood that I was capable of understanding - I learned as much as I could about everything. We have to restructure the whole system. The beautiful thing about our existing system is that it was designed to capacitate this very act! PROGRESS! We gotta make corporate campaign contributions illegal first though, and quickly!

I am wondering how my eye motion would've been different if I was interested in/attracted to the girls I was on the date with. Definitely curious - because it's easy to just focus in on the conversation when there's no romantic flare, but could certainly change with interest! (I was DREW in this, btw)

You can use a digital clock with a timer function. Casio has a model with that function, for example ws100h, also the countdown has a repeat mode :) is a suggestion

It’s amazing to see that he isn’t actually looking at the notes. He is finding the centre most position between the notes he is playing and uses his peripherals to focus on both hands.

I had good results doing this for a year. The interval however, was 1 HOUR. I had good but different results at 30 minute intervals. Trying again at 15 minute intervals, diminishing returns, closer to your results.

David is just not really interested in the whole process, which isn't his fault really. It's odd that David never got someone who wore the glasses. Almost like they were setting him up to be the reason for the discomfort every time. Plus, of course there's a "really easy conversation" with the people without glasses... because you can see their... eyes...
