It is like a firework show in the brain. The best Kruetzer ever.

At parts it does seem like an amazing fireworks show is beginning and tension is building. Then other times it's like they are playing out a wide and carefree road trip on the violin and piano. I always want to.ask, "Where did you go?"

One of the first concerts I ever went to (I was about 16) was the first of a series of three concerts where this duo played all of Beethoven's violin sonatas. It was and still remains one of the greatest musical experiences of my life. They held the entire audience in the palm of their hands, we were scared to breathe in case we broke the spell they wove. There are no better recordings than the set they did and I doubt there will ever be a violinist who will surpass or even match the gorgeous rich tone of Itzhak Perlman.

The incisiveness of Lewenthal's playing is how Alkan should sound..His playing of each piece is best practice.

I don't have perfect pitch but sometimes 24.55 will just randomly pop in my head with the exact same notes... It's such an expressive passage.
@JerryEboy697 күн бұрын
Is perfect pitch necessary for key and note accuracy (in one’s head)? I wouldn’t know having the God given blessing, but I’ve always wondered how others hear music
@z.a.48017 күн бұрын
@JerryEboy69 I do not understand the question. If you don't have perfect pitch, you can still hear music in your head and it can still be perfectly accurate. If I meditate, I can even hear the particular sound and timber of every instrument. I even have had my brain tell me the name of a note whilst hearing a note. All perfect pitch is direct and consistent association between a vibration and a word. Most people claiming to have perfect pitch don't actually have it, they just have a very good tonal memory.
@JerryEboy697 күн бұрын
@ I have that association. That’s not what I asked. I’m asking how different people hear music, and you have answered it. I have not studied the psychology, only the theory. Thanks anyway

Tanto busque esta obra de Vivaldi con la dirección del gran Herbert Von Karajan que es como cuando tienes el antojo de una comida y viajas 100 km porque hasta allá la preparan. De lo más hermoso que ha dado la música clásica...

Salvatore Accardo is reputably the finest interpreter of Paganini's violin concerti. He has recorded all six along with the twenty-four caprices. Paganini's music is fiendishly difficult to play and his performances drew gasps from his audiences. Small wonder he was called the Devil's Violinist. His public adored him. When he died at the age of fifty-seven he was refused a Catholic burial because of this association with the Devil!!! This is a superb recording and is best listened to and savoured in absolute silence.

So grateful to be able to hear these amazing pianists in one of the most iconic classical works today. Thank you, thank you! (No need to interrupt it with begging for help in the horrible wars going on in the world---every thoughtful humanitarian is already giving their hearts out. I encourage everyone to build a trust fund dedicated to world peace, health, and equanimity. That is what the universal language of music speaks to us. No need for commercials when this music pierces our hearts.)

And yet Rachmaninov envisioned this work for two pianos as well...for some of us chamber lovers and pianist lovers, this is an immensely satisfying work far more expressive than an orchestral work. I suspect we all need to appreciate our many passions and impressions, and give grace to each other.
