To note, supposedly the original intention was not sexual. PH is just trying to remove things from James' path by shoving the manikins down the garbage disposal. Granted, PH being a sexual creature fits with James' repressed sexual urges and violence. So, like much of SH2, up to player interpretation.

While I know this, the OG scene is like, impossible not to read as sexual. I really can't imagine the non-sexual interpretation as a the actual vision of people who animated that scene.

There is actually a lot of sexual interpretation in SH2, especially in James and what Pyramid Head represents. Even the scene where he fights against the abstract father had a lot of symbolism regarding rape.

Ito never intended for Pyramid Head to represent James' sexual urges (despite the game containing lots of sexual symbolism especially w/ Angela's monsters) but somehow that idea stuck around in the last 20-something years.

Ame kinda reminded me of Akebi's reason for enrolling at an all girls school. Not because she's yuri, but because she grew up without friends.
