OK, IMMA BE EXTREMELY CONTROVERSIAL APPARENTLY. Eating without a table is definitely uncomfortable, I'd actually go so far as to say -3 debuff is not enough more like -5. It is uncomfortable, it should take more time, i think the colonist should even get less of a nutritional value just for dropping a part of the food. It is on a tray and a plate most of the time, but I don't think that even helps that much. Let's say average colonist might burn more than 2700 kcal a day with how active many of them are (mining, construction, hauling and fighting would probably burn a lot more, but considering some colonists do research and crafting imma bring it down to a reasonable 2700 kcals a day) Baseline human (with metabolic efficiency of 100%), needs 1.6 nutrition a day to not be hungry. Most meals give like 0.9 to 1.0 nutrition, therefore a normal colonist eats like 2 meals (I expect that a normal colonist is not in a significant caloric surplus, so i will count the 2 meals as 2700 calories, instead of the 1.6 nutrition which I will count as a slight caloric deficit). If we look at normal colonists food intake, It might usually be like purely boiled rice... which has 130 kcal per 100 grams -> your colonists have to eat 2,45kg (5,4lbs) of boiled rice to get that -> they eat 2 meals -> they have to eat 1.23kg (2.7lbs) of boiled rice, while not having where to sit (except the ground) or where to put that yummy delicious nutrient paste your nutrient paste dispenser spewed out to save some time and work force. I would probably kill myself, if I had to eat 1.23kg portion of boiled rice nutrient paste whatever WHILE NOT HAVING WHERE TO PUT THAT FOOD. I genuienly don't think most of y'all realize how actually annoying that would be, and I challenge you to try to eat for a whole week without a table, especially only having like 2 meals of purely rice to simulate the weight. I might have made miscalculations and grammatic mistakes or whatever, but my point stands. ☺👍👍👍

There should be a mod (or an add on) that is common sense, eating without a table can make them drop their food (low chance) which gives them a debuff and nothing else, but eating without a table does nothing

This game is bad tbh. I bought it was back in early access. Tbh the game really isn't much different to what it was then. It's fun if you wanna make a space cannibal. Fucking bland as fuck for literally anything else. Sad I supported it all those years ago

It's so funny too because I have experimented with mods that rebalance the mood system to be more reasonable and it makes the game so boring. Nothing really happens unless things go extremely horribly wrong. Your pawns basically have practically no personality. It's really kind of funny how necessary it feels to the game to have your character is just be a little neurotic

@@lolman1791/videos what? bowl issue, and it is 100% supposed to be thinner than your thumb so it doesnt slip, and using one hand is easily done given the average circumference of a bowl is way smaller than a plate (which also have this btw)

Rimworld is a great way to learn how dialectical law of quantity and quality works. You have a gradual quantitative change, but at some point, there is a point from where you started to where you ended up where there is a definitive qualitative difference. That being, mood gradually worsening due to various factors are quantitative changes, that eventually yield a qualitative change (mental break).

I guess eating dinner with your plate on the ground would be slightly annoying. Combined with all the horrible things you need to endure in the average rimworld colony, it might just be the thing to push you over the edge

Let me go all across the map to tame this horse. Oops, just remembered I haven't watched TV in 6 hours straight. Let me go all the way back. Ok, I'll go tame this horse how. Surely I could eat while I was at the kitchen watching TV but I'll go all the way across the map and eat without a table to get debuff. Alright, taming. Taming... Taming... Oh, it went to sleep. Glad I ate instead of taming and lost half an hour. I guess I should sleep too. Let's try again tomorrow.

@@lagudoufu once you get a colonist with level 10+ plants its pretty easy to maintain a large colony. Just have to have multiple farms with different crops and make them a full time farmer.

@@JimboJuice I see your 1 Farmer... and I raise you 4 Agrihands Especially now that Vanille Expanded mods dropped the recycling mod for waste-packs. Or you can just get a slave or two and replace their body parts with tech that lets them farm better I guess... But then you'd have to feed them.

Have you never touched your schedule tabs? This entire issue is non-existent if you just give your pawns an hour of free time and an hour of recreation pre and post work hours.
