love the chords in this one > I hesitate between adding silence or a fadeout like this one when a tune ends. What do you think is best? i do it like this: if there's a >1-second silence after the tune finishes i don't add a fade out and include the silence in the recording, otherwise if it just directly jumps back to the beginning i add a 10-second fade out to it
@Sychamis26 күн бұрын
Ok. I guess I will be doing this from now on because I got a similar idea when rendering the audio, but I ignored it and added a fadeout anyway lol

niceee by the way, what monitor are you using? i see it's 1920x1200, i'm looking for one with that resolution too also don't remove the video it's nice
@SychamisАй бұрын
It's my laptop display, I've seen some 16 by 10 monitors (made by hp) but I use a wider one on my desktop setup. I was thinking about deleting this video if youtube didn't like something about it, identifiable info I missed could be seen or if the video gets too popular or hated.

100 Hz? Does that provide a crisper sound? How were you able to upsample? These kinds of c64 songs are essentially a 6502 software program right? Normally such programs are programmed against 50/60 Hz I suppose.
@SychamisАй бұрын
Yeah, the usual calling rate for the music routine is once per frame, but having a higher update frequency makes it possible to use a wider range of tempos and change the waveforms faster. While I can't say this makes the sounds "crisper", it definitely helps at creating more complex instruments. Listen to some of psych858o's music (which is usually in 300Hz) to see what can be achieved.
@CarlintVeldАй бұрын
So this song got created in 2018? Do you have any background on this artist? The sid keeps rocking even at the end of 2024 😅
@SychamisАй бұрын
He started making SID music since the late 80's and you can easily tell a tune is his thanks to his distinct style.
