Ha ha, I removed our sleep number mattress and tore out all the hardware, air pump etc. and put in a similar rv king short mattress a couple of seasons ago. I felt a little guilty throwing the whole thing in the dumpster, but I just couldnt take sleeping on the inflatable any longer. Made more room to get around and under the bed for storage and so much more comfortable. Enjoyed your video.

WOW! THANK YOU!!!! I too suffered from guilt throwing all that expensive, overly complicated "space shutte" mattress stuff away as well. But as you know,.....the guilt was gone by the next night of sleep.

Mark no one could a better job explaining the process of ordering a new Mattress, your explanation included a detailed drawing with real world measurements. I’m glad you secured the work area and made it safe for this project to start. Your OSHA record is still perfect with no injuries. We are all glad Sue was there to keep you on task as we know you can sometimes be distracted by the complex design of an item you are working with. Your use of a complex measuring device to check all factory specifications this should be documented in all engineering journals used today. The way you ended this highly technical explanation of purchasing a mattress was over the top and the way you explained the items needed for a successful night of sleep should be noted in the national sleep foundation publications. I think Frank and Larry should be paying you some royalties for the advertisement you’re helping them with… I usually sign off with safe travels my friends, but today is special so a new quote.. I finally got eight hours of sleep. It took me three days, but whatever.

Thanks Kirk. Sue & I are smart enough that this video looks like and ad, which it is! BUT,....it is also the real life air mattress issue we had been dealing with for years, and finally decided that enough was enough. We needed to solve our expensive, chronic AIR mattress failure issues once and for all. This episode shows HOW we solved it, and the PROCESS of selecting the make & model to do it!

Got a BB RV firm queen 3 years ago. Absolutely the best mattress we ever had. We bought the full size queen for home and it's much harder. Same mattress. Had to put topper on it's so hard. We sleep better in RV.
@OurJourneyInMyles2 сағат бұрын
I was afraid to call the dimensions too close, so we ordered SMALL and when the mattress came EXACTLY to the size listed, we added our existing topper to the 8" mattress. That was our backup plan. We had to be certain it would not be too tall. If I was doing it over, I would order the 10" version right away and not use our old topper!

We just use google maps and the routes that display in RV Trip Wizard. The actual "route" we follow is supplied by Adventure Caravans,....which we just input into google and/or Garmin. Sue sometimes has to adjust (force) the route to match one way or the other.

Thanks for the video. It brought back memories of me and my dad pulling our 29ft 5th wheel on I-70 eastbound after 2 day's in Glenwood, heading toward Denver. This was a return trip that started in Tennessee to San Diego, Ca. It was a great experience back in 2010 and Colorado is beautiful. We went through in late May & there was still snow in some places. I got to create great memories with my Dad on this trip and he passed away a year later in 2011.

Great review Sue! Question, once you plan the trip in RV trip wizard, how far in advance do you make all the reservations at campgrounds, harvest hosts, etc.? Or do you make reservations the day of arrival?
@OurJourneyInMyles2 күн бұрын
This is Mark. A plan for a trip or route might take a few days or week to complete at our leisure. Typically, the only dates we reserve are the ones that are hard to get, and may have a date set in stone. These locations are kind of the "anchor" of the entire plan. Once the "anchors" are in place, and we had more time to look at things to do and see in an area, we may play around with the assigned days. When we did as much as would could do up front, then we finally book them all. The 44 foot length and 50 amp FHU required for our rigs makes "winging it" too stressful and unworkable. We like to travel only 44 hours (about 250 miles) per day. We LIVE in an RV,........we don't look it as we have to pile on miles. We just happen to move around.
