It used to work but now every sketchup file imported as .skp will not work anymore in Blender 4.2. I will always get the error SU_ERROR_MODEL_INVALID

The plugin doesn't work very well, but it does work. Only imported the simple planes from a scene, not the object. And they were all microscopic.

As a 3d artist, i'm looking for an archviz workflow with blender bim as we can do with max and revit, what tutorial should i watch to learn how to load/reload the project, texture it with uvw (cant do edit mode in bonsai when ifc is linked ?), hide to render certain parts of the model (like the ugly trees of an ifc) ? most of the content is engineer/archi focused, i would like to start learning with the rendering aspect.

for me in the get extensions tab it doesn't show any options does anyone know why

Why do I have nothing in the get extensions section?

This method did not work for me. I tried to export DXF straight out of ACAD2020 as well but each time, Blender shows a jagged geometry that is hard tow work with . It looks as if it cannot import curves from ACAD and instead interpolates them into stepped lines. Strange because I have had success with importing ACAD files to Blender and ones quite similar to the one I am trying here, but for some reason its not working now. Could this have something to do the later version of Blender (I am using 4.2.1)

Thanks for the informative video. I wander if it is possible just save a DWG file in autocad as DXF file and then import it in blender, without recurring at a specific program to make the conversion.

Hi I have the latest versions of blender /bonsai but don't have the tab "extend walls to slab in wall tools!

Got a question, if I have a drawing that's not exactly to scale and I want to input the dimension value myself, can I edit it? I have a drawing of a door and I want to add measures to it. But the measures that I get following your tutorial won't give me the dimension I want to declare for presentation purposes only. Can I just manually edit each dimension to suit my need?

Nobody models wall by wall in Sketchup. There's no point in even comparing it to Blender. When we can import a floor plan into Blender and create the faces of all the walls of the building, then just extrude the wall to the required height with a single command... only then will we be able to make a comparison

In an orthographic view, how can we select the closest vertices when using the measure tool? I find sometimes it connects to the closest, but other times it connects to a vertex that is further back - giving the wrong measurement

As an archicad user and interested in learning blender is there anyway to only link the IFC file instead of import or open? Lets say I want the capabilities of blender for rendering and if necessary make modifications to my archicad ifc file and then relink this file with the new modifications. Is that possible?
