If they had any brains they would bring a modern verison of it to market today. Make the back half of the top removable to convert into a Elcomino concept and give it all wheel drive with the Cadilac twin turbo 2 ltr. But no the Aztec designs are king over there. GM died along time ago.
@michaelbenardo56953 жыл бұрын
I think this is the only one ever built. It was just a "push mobile". It had no engine or transmission, it was just a display car. Chevrolet did make a production Nomad in 55, built on a standard Chevy wagon chassis, but with the Nomad roof design. The production car had a slightly more upright center post that exactly matched the angle of the tailgate. The Corvette Nomad's center post leaned a little further forward. Somebody DID, a few years ago, make a drivable Corvette Nomad.

Maybe if it was built in '56 with a V8 and manual trans (on the floor) it would be a seller? The Nomad for a small family and a convertible for dad (& mom)? ;-)
@michaelbenardo56953 жыл бұрын
There was a 56, and a 55 and a 57 Nomad. They came standard with the 6, but almost all had the V8, but with a column shift.

56 - 57 Corvette Nomad?
@michaelbenardo56953 жыл бұрын
@@TairnKA No, a Chevrolet Nomad. The 55 had it's own styling, but the 56 and 57 were styled just like other 56 and 57 Chevys. They have been Blue-Chip collector Cars for decades now.

@joefisk44482 жыл бұрын
The Chevelle was Chevys mid-size offering so natural it would be available as a 4 door and wagon. The fact that it became a legendary muscle car too was just icing on the cake.

'THE CORVETTE WAS THE WORSE CAR TO TRY TO BE AN "AMERICAN SPORTS CAR" IN AMERICAN HISTORY And Could have become the StandArd for Ferrari and Porche' to try t beat instead of the other way around! As usual GM blew it and why they should have been allowed to file BANKRUPTCY back in the 70's and for good during 2008! AND PUT ITSELF OUT OF BUSINESS..aLLOWING uNIONS TO DESTROY AN aMERICAN ICON INDUSTRY.. There is no War going on anymore to justify spending Billions of taxpayers $ to keep them in business.. The Japaneses have proven to be the Superior Auto Industry Leaders and done the right way..TOYOTA leading the way ! by Example the USA should have taken to follow and that Ronald Reagon & Clinton wanted to do..and send unions( Boses) back to Italy were their Mofia Fathers came from ...!

I like it very much. It'd be nice to have more than the outside looks and see what actually was under it, inside it and what it offered. I'd want one if it was a current offer. NOTE TO GM, dig into your archives and print some up. What you have now pales by comparison.
