Even though this was a few years ago, it is now 2025, this helped me as I am the leader of the guest services at our church, and we are thinking about gifts for the new year for our first guest. So thanks a lot. I will pass this on to The finance team that does ordering. 😊

Pentecostal preachers I grew up listening to are the experts at preaching without notes and no slides.

I have minimal notes but a lot of cross references. I know where I am going and all that, but I do want to get to that point. I’ll get there it is a matter of when

I think preaching just like anything else is about preference. If you have the ability to memorize information you’ll be the type of person to use minimal notes. If you prefer to read line by line, that’s ok too. There are great preachers and teachers on both sides of the aisle.

Blindness forces you to preach without notes

My personal take. Although eye contact is important, what you are saying (correct doctrine) is more important than whether you are using notes or not. Some of the best ever preachers even read their sermons (i.e Jonathan Edwards).

( Church of the seven thunders). The God of Israel says to you, you are a liar you cannot repent this is what your fate will be. and the devil that decevied them was thrown into the lake of fire where the beast and the false lying preacher will be and they shall be tormented day and night forever and ever ( Rev 20: 10) this is the fate of all those that lied to Gods people.😅

Hi Pastor thank you for this teaching very helpful. And also talking about destruction while preaching is the preacher's attire. Some especially women, this happened in our church. Our church pastor's wife was preaching and was wearing this tight jeans with her top tucked in. To be honest, I could not look at her while preaching because her front, the form of it, is very obvious. By the way, I am a woman, and I am not a lesbian. I am a pastor as well. Just opened our church. She was preaching her heart out, but it just did not get into me. And I just kept my head down while listening.

I am a preacher for 50 years, know the Word of God, people don't study and put the exact readings in the Bible in memory and here is the most important I read with and pray for the Teaching of the HOLY SPIRIT.

Why would you want to preach without notes, what is the appeal?
@PracticalChurch4 ай бұрын
Ultimately, it helps you better engage with who you're speaking to. It also often correlates with your level of preparation and how strongly you can speak on the topic. Some notes definitely aren't a bad thing to help you stay on track. The important thing is to find the balance that works for you while continuing to work to rely on them less and less.

Great video. I’ve been in pastoral ministry for 25+ years read and heard much on avoiding pastoral burn out, yet you have added so fresh and practical insights. I like this new format. And the end segments. Keep up the good work.

I think it depends on HOW you preach. I use many cross references.I go verse by verse line by line. It is more tedious I do think bing thought preaching can do be without notes

The Holy Spirit attracts people and is what will get them to stay. Not the fog machines and flashing lights. Sad that the church is trying to look more like the world to attract people rather than being a light and standing out from the world. If the lights and fog are what is attracting the baby believers then why is the underground church booming in places like China and the Middle East? Our priorities are all wrong 😢

You know this thought just came to me, as this is a channel for "practical church planting". Where does the Lord instruct his disciples to plant churches that mainly focus on a Sunday morning gathering with a sermon? Aren't we called to make disciples and is preaching on a Sunday morning gathering really biblical and is it also an effictive tool to make disciples? When it comes to preaching I only see the Apostles preach the gospel to unbelievers and they would do it always outside the church. What we do in modern churches today is religious entertainment for 2 hours on a Sunday morning, where we have a worship concert followed by a lecture. I think the church our Lord Jesus had in mind looked rather different, and also the first believers gathered in a very different setting on a more daily basis with focus on relationships instead of formal meetings. It took me over 30 years to realize this. I now have left the Sunday morning system, and the Lord is leading me into a much more intimate relationship with him and with other fellow believers that he is placing beside me. I now love the church more than ever. I'm so excited and I can't wait to see what else the Lord has planned for me on this journey, but I can tell already that I don't want to exchange what I have now with the religious Sunday morning system where I was concerned about how to deliver a sermon and to perform a program. I hope and pray that this would be helpful for someone. If that is you and if you're in despair over the present status, give it some serious prayer. Maybe the Lord is calling you to a new chapter on your journey with him. If that's the case you'll be surprised how the Lord will put other believers around you and how the church comes alive. I won't tell you exactely what it looks like for me these days because the Lord might have something totally different in mind for you. And what I want to share is not an other new formula for church planting. But what I can tell you is that we as fellow believers share life together on an almost daily basis, where we encourage each other, pray for each other, celebrate communion, and also minister to people around us.
