Hammerheads are so gorgeous. Curious, assertive, but not much of a threat to people. I'd be more worried about it biting a cable or getting tangled in something than an actual attack. (there has never been a fatal hammerhead attack on humans)

Hey mate, currently a dive equipment tech and hopefully doing my adas part 1, 2 and 3 when CDA runs the courses next in WA. Are there any additional tickets or certs such as basic riggers, dogman etc that you recommend getting before undertaking the course? Thinking about getting my kirby morgan and ots servicing cert too but just wondering if it would even be worth it considering the kirby morgan course alone is $2300 AUD. Would appreciate any advice cheers.

Not sure about Australia but here in the states rigging is a major asset. If you have the time take a rope access course too, rope access welding is good money and something to do if you have a slow season diving, still let’s you get out to sea too, if you’ve ever seen pictures of guys hanging off of oil rigs and ships welding that’s what it is. Edit: I had to look up dogging, in the states that and rigging are all the same thing/same coursework. It’s valuable to have but I wouldn’t spend money on it tbh. Rigging is more important. Good luck man. CDA is a great school, Tasmania is where a lot of people go to get their saturation ticket, expensive as hell though.

Nice and clear on that seabed. Did exactly the same procedure on the Beryl field for Mobil in 1985. Working at 117 meters off the Uncle John for Comex. Dreadful music by the way.

Yha it looks really interesting compared to where you've got high concentration of current and waves, I can see the hoist chain is up and down... which makes the job an 80% safe already, the diver with the team for the remaining 20% .......

First things first. That is one hell of a scary and virtually helpless situation. Im happy the guy made it out alive. Now that's been adressed, it's an amusing juxtoposition to see a sat diver to turn caveman and fend off a shark at the bottom of the ocean.
