This is strange. When I was in HS. my vocal music teacher was Norman Allen from Oswego NY. Mr. Allen had us do two pieces by Frackenpohl's Never Doubt I Love, a different arrangement that I liked better than this one. and Eulogy on the Death of a Mad Dog.. Thank you so much for reminding me of Norn Allen and Arthur Frackenpohl

I helped play this my 8th grade year as part of the "Intermeadiate" band; apparently I wasn't good enough to be part of the "Advanced" band. I liked this piece don't get me wrong, but I hate the way I was in with 7th graders when I was an 8th grader; just because they didn't think I was good enough. 😡 To this day I hate the word "intermediate"! It doesn't even sound good at festival when you're introduced as "The Intermediate Band"! Oh well I AM old enough to drink now. Maybe I'll just get drunk!

I agree with what others have commented: fantastic playing. What I particularly like is the leisurely, majestic rubato which somehow fits the character of the music perfectly. And it comes across even more strongly in this live rendition than on the excellent recording.

@@mtcpianist I love the pieces and I have the C sharp minor etude in Willaim Chapman Nyaho's African music anthology, so I may try it for my channel. In the meantime I've listened to all the others and I'll have a look at some of your other playing/compositions. And I really look forward to doing that!
