I have another friend who's in quite the same boat, though I'm also hoping for the Arrangement games, maybe even Pac-Man Plus, potentially? I hope? That or the Final Lap games, that'd be AWESOME!

@@CreeperDudeBro Pac-Man Plus would be epic! I can definitely see the Final Lap games eventually coming. My biggest wonder is how would they end up selling the arrangement games? Would they be sold separately or all together like how the arcade cabinets were? I also really want them to break into the 3D games like Starblade for example or even tackle the light gun games, I wonder if they are possible to port though. Still hoping!! ^^

It's been said by people that know Hamster a lot that they in fact may sell full collections of the entire Namco Classic Collections, though the price would be high to accommodate. Even if it's like that, I'd happily still get them! But it looks like this week we'll have to wait for what the next Namco game is since Wiping/Rug Rats is the game that came out.

Considering to try out BARADUKE 2 for myself one day. From watching the footage, it looks like a very fun and innovative shot 'em up arcade game. I kind of imagine it had story into it, too. I should give this game a go.

Bakutotsu Kijūtei is a good game, I don't think it's as good as the original but it's still plenty fun to just go through the levels and shoot some alien baddies while saving the Paccets like before! Except now they can shoot, too! Plus, you play as Takky, the P2 from the first game, and that's pretty cool you get to see her here in this game!

Ah the nostalgic sounds of my childhood youth The memories I have of this game will forever be one of the main reasons that I ever even got into gaming in the first place and it's because of this game that I have a fondness for namco's entrie catalog of gaming history the soundtrack of this game alone has tunes that in my mind are still certified bangers listening to them all these years later in my adult life My personal favorite tunes from this game were the Galaga and Rally X rooms the rooms for Bosconian and Pac-Man and pole position also had good music that accompanied them the room for Toy Pop also had good music but the presentation for that room alone could've had more work done to it and the style of the music that accompanied the room was good but as I got older that music kind of got old and somewhat annoying but back then as a kid I didn't mind it at all Although I did think that it went a bit over the top But that could've also been the style of the music that they chose for that room but again they chose a unique style of music for each one of the included games that best suits them and fits the overall style and presentation of the game

Interestingly, the 6th gen's game over music is lifted from the Japanese version of Vol.1 but pitched at the same notes as the international version of Vol 1. Mass Media may have ported the music from said games and pitched it manually in a DAW application. Unlike the arcade version, the music in the Namco Museum ports are streamed as opposed played via a sound chip.
@CreeperDudeBro
@CreeperDudeBro 3 ай бұрын
Really? Huh. Extremely strange. To be fair, the international still includes the Japanese mix of the music in the Jukebox, so that's probably where they nabbed it from. My question is... why? It's the only song that sounds like that, not just in Pole Position (they got the international Game Over music just fine) but THE ENTIRE COLLECTION. I can't think of a single song from any of the 8 games that were ported from the PS1 (maybe 7 in the case of Pac-Mania since it's not exactly the same?) and they're all fine except this one, instance. Why change the one song? An error, maybe?
@stuart541
@stuart541 3 ай бұрын
@@CreeperDudeBro I couldn't come up with a reason even if I tried. The new games added to the 6th gen versions have flaws too despite this being a later release. Both Pac-Man Arrangement and Dig-Dug Arrangement were pitched up by 0.7 semitones for no discernable reason. Also one of the audio channels (can't remember whether it was the left or right ones) were inverted, creating a strange stereo effect that when played on mono devices, cancels the other channel out, creating a voice remover effect. On top of that, the PlayStation 2 version adds a strange flange effect on the arrangement games that fades both high and low pass frequencies. It's why gameplays of the arrangement games on that console sound fuzzy, even when played on a modern display.
@CreeperDudeBro
@CreeperDudeBro 3 ай бұрын
@@stuart541 Oh, is THAT the exact amount that games like those two arrangements and collections like Namco Museum 50th Anniversary got hit with, huh? Not. 0.5, but... 0.7? ...huh. Also yeah, that does explain the weird effect when listening to certain speakers on the music in those versions, especially if they recorded those via the PS2 version (which was most popular so that's what people did). The biggest question tho is still why the hell this music got changed. Especially because now I'm remembering, Pole Position on Namco Museum 64 and NM on Dreamcast not only uses the international version of the music... but it's also not touched in the pitch department. So the change for PS2, GC and Xbox is even more confusing since they could have... just redid what 64 and DC did. The only changes made to Pole Position 1 was the Prepare to Qualify clip was changed (which I really hope is rippable so I can hear it clearly at some point) along with adding one for qualifying for the Grand Prix that 64/DC lacked for some baffling reason, and they ported over the music for qualifying from Pole Position II since it's more accurate to the original. ...such a strange hodgepodge port, but hey, I've got lots of nostalgia for it, and it at least runs at a consistent 60fps and controls FAR better than the port on 64/DC when using the stick, so it at least plays very well.

@@CreeperDudeBro I would love to know the development for this version of the game (6th Gen Namco Museum (Not the 50th anniversary version)). It holds a special place in my heart. A lot of strange design choices made by Mass Media indeed but it was charming in a way. Made the release a little more special. Another neat fact is that on rare occasions the games on this release will play random sound effects in place of the proper sound effects. A notable example would be from this upload of Pole Position in which Galaga sound effects can be heard: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZnWwq3Sto7mSn5Y

@@stuart541 Honestly, I feel the same. I've grown up with Namco Museum on GameCube since I was 2 in 2005, it was my introduction to video games as a whole, and I loved every second I played of it. Sure it's not perfect, but it led to my love of arcade games, my love of Pac-Man, my love of Tadashi Yamashita's designs for both Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man, my love of the Arrangement games from the mid-'90s, and much more. It could have been better, though, and it is fun wondering... just what the hell could have happened while they made this lmao

Yep, recorded from a JP21 cable on a professional upscaler on the original Japanese hardware. That's how I got the footage (and by proxy, the audio). Emulators sometimes struggle and basic AV cables with buzz wouldn't cut it, I wanted to get the best quality I could get. Didn't stop them from making the in-game Pac-Dot sound only hearable in game with the ghost sounds, that's on them.
