I couldn’t agree more about what you said about the SP2. I love those spikes. You have to be careful with those for sure. After my first pair I put the drag tape on before wearing them once and PRed in them first wear. Unfortunately I only got one pair so I wear them in practice and competition. Have not worn any Nike spikes yet so can’t comment on that. Thanks for the video :)

My opinion (common sense), Kishane only needed to run the first 60m (as usual) and that would have been sufficient to run 9.78 - 9.76 sec. Didn't need to expend any excessive energy over the last 40m to accomplish this. (This has been a very effective formula utilized by him and his handlers up until this point). It worked in 2023 at the Jamaica World Championships trials, (where he elected not to compete in the finals even with the top qualifying time). It was also successful on several other occasions: 3 times at the Jamaican Olympics trials, once before Paris, and in the heats and semis at the Olympic games. So why change anything?. I am pretty sure that was the plan (to not change much in regards to race strategy). But he had some hamstring issues prior to the finals so that also needs to be factored into the equation before we come to any assumptions or conclusions. Kishane and Stephen Francis had a very simple and transparent game-plan which was to: Run the first 60m then relax sensibly for the next 40m. Easy 9.77 - 9.76 sec for the gold. No need to add or divest from the routine. According to Stephen Francis (Check a post race interview with him) in which he said Kishane lowered his standards to Noah's level. My two cents from this statement is that Kishane may have deviated from the race plan just a bit hence, he lost just a bit. Noah's race wasn't pretty but he stuck to his usual race pattern. Nonetheless the results may not have been what most wanted but in my opinion this was one of the most entertaining 100m races since the days of Usain Bolt. Beautiful race, great competition, fast times, and in the Olympic finals at that. What more can a fan ask for? What more can a coach ask for? What more can the athlete ask for? This was Kishane's first global race and he won a silver medal at 23 years old, the man has a very bright future, well done. Looking forward to seeing him compete with the world's best once more in the near future. I think he'll be just fine. To say Kishane lost is a bit much. After all he won the silver medal, he gained valuable experience and exposure, and he is now an Olympic Silver Medalist, with the world lead in the 100m so far this year, (he was also the man with the least experience in the race so I think we should cut him some slack on this one. after all, It took Noah about 7-8 years to get his gold. It took Kishane 2-3 years to get silver and he is just 23 years old. I'm just saying). After he eats two Juicy Beef Pattys and a Slice of Jamaican HTB Bun and Tastee Cheese "him" ready again. Don't forget the box milk. LOL! P.S (Jamaican talk now) wait till him learn Fi run di first 80m more problem fi di competition...

Most track persons like myself agree 100%. Its no secret. Dude should be running like a freight train to at least 110 meters. He would be so far ahead that no one would be close to beat him at the line. Kishaine mind and body was not in sync. Everybody psychologically think they are Bolt until their body says otherwise. Bolt was way ahead of his competitions both physically and mentally. Facts: Most people who specialize in 200m has the potential to be great 100m runners due to the muscle and mind connection of endurance and sustainability.

KT is injury prone and so they were conservative. He would have gone all out at trials but the stupid Jamaican anti-doping people tested him after the heats and he got to bed after 1 am. Thus after that they were afraid of injury. Decent opinion though.
@fredball8240
@fredball8240 20 күн бұрын
Kishane has a history of injuries..he's known in Jamaican circles as an injury prone power sprinter. This is the first year Kishane has been fully healthy and was looking great early. BUT Coach Francis had to make a decision. IF you run him regularly on the Invitational circuit you run the risk of adding him to the long list of injured Jamaican athletes. His strategy is an old one but it works. It's called sprint & cruise..others have a different name for it. But the theory is to sprint 60m and cruise 40-50m. It's less taxing on the hamstrings and it's a good test of early drive phase muscle memory because Kishane really pounds the track. You build up to 70m, then 80m and then 90m and so on. The trouble is you don't have too many opportunities to teach the MENTAL competitive game in an Olympic year. Guys are staying home and running in their home countries. Look at Omayala running 9.77 at home. Nobody who's a veteran wants to show their hand or their race strategy on the international circuit for fear it will come back to bite them in the Olympics. The international meet organizers knew not to schedule events because the big names were not coming. Noah scratched Monaco. And Kishane ran only two non-Jamaican meets. Seville didn't even run against him in Jamaica after trials, so what does that tell you? Kishane did run against Simbine and Tebogo, two African guys who go where the money is, but it was clear those two were not going 100% all out against him. They were sizing HIM up. Next stop Olympics. Watching the heats and semis it seemed everything was going according to plan. Kishane was getting easy separation and all the prognosticators were buzzing him as the new Asafa Powell. A diesel built for sprinting. Come the finals the delay in starting added something off-schedule. A wrinkle. Wrinkles cause impatience and you must mentally reset. At the gun everything was good except for the fact that Fred Kerley took the race to Kishane. Fred was determined not to allow separation and there was none. It was clear Kishane expected to separate because you see the teeth gritting at 75m. Teeth gritting = tense body. The speed endurance workouts hadn't kicked in and his momentum was slowed. You see Fred arching his torso sideways as if to jump thru a narrow window. Kishane's lean was weak because he in fact had not had to lean at any time this season. Neither of them saw Noah. In fact, Noah ran the EXACT SAME RACE as he did in Shanghai in 2019 to defeat Christian Coleman at the Shanghai Invitational. The. exact. same. race. Kishane's races usually are over at 60m...Noah's races BEGIN at 60m..his acceleration and momentum - like an eel in the water - the last 20-15m of a race are breathtaking. How the heck does he do that you ask yourself. Plus, Noah runs to the pace of the competition. Asafa Powell said that and I agree 100%. Whatever the speed of the race, fast or slow, Noah runs to match it or just betters it by a tenth or hundredth or thousandth - whatever it requires. But THAT'S how I saw it young fella.
@MarciaSantos-ox1fk
@MarciaSantos-ox1fk 20 күн бұрын
Great points. Kishane is not used to having so many runners on his shoulders at the 80m mark, and his body responded to that level of pressure, hence the grimace on his face. He's young, and he did very well. Despite his mistakes, he ran the same time as Noah Lyles. Noah is also not used to this level of competition, especially after he ran a personal best and had to rely on a photo finish to win. This has never happened to Noah before. The bright side is the Jamaica/USA rivalry is back on in earnest! 😂😂
