Just bought one and will try it next season. Bought it specifically for my kayak but also read it can be used on my bass tracker that is under 1500LBS. so that kind of convinced me to get it, I can use it on both but if it does not work out on bass tracker have it for kayak.

Not really. Two wins on this series this year have come south of 36. One of my best days ever on that lake came south of 36 and the AOY from ‘22 was fishing the complete other side of the lake.

Tips On how to stop Losing lures on Trees/Rocks??
@theloonangler6 ай бұрын
I get stuck a lot but making sure my Texas rig hook is buried in the plastic almost every cast helps out. Also different brands of baits work better in the real thick stuff depending on how durable the plastic is.

You don’t see many people add the Steadycast to a kayak which puzzles me. I’m getting all the pieces together to add to my PA14 with Xi3. Have you experienced any issues with interference using the Xi3? Being in close proximity motor I’m curious if it causes any issues. Thank’s and super clean setup!
@theloonangler7 ай бұрын
Thanks. I wasn’t initially but I’ve had some problems the last time out with the steadycast. I need to recalibrate it I think and hoping that fixes it.

LOOKS GREAT but this has to be pushing the weight limit.
@theloonangler9 ай бұрын
I was worried about my weight and all the gear I bring. When I put this kayak together I weighed EVERYTHING, including what was already on the kayak such as seat, pedals, paddle etc.,. With this setup I'm sitting at 235 lbs in gear/equipment. Add my weight and I'm still easily 150 pounds under carrying capacity of 600 lbs for the Hobie Pro Angler 14
@basschaser93569 ай бұрын
Cool setup but I sure miss kayak bass tournament back 8-9yrs ago when nobody had spotlock and fancy electronics. Now it’s about who has the most money put into thier kayak . The average guy can’t even compete with the guys who have over $5k invest into a kayak when he just spotlock and scoped all day
@theloonangler9 ай бұрын
Thanks, I get what you're saying but to be totally honest I very rarely use livescope like you see on the major tournament trails. I am a shallow water angler mostly and I rarely sit in one spot. I have found a few ways to make the livescope work for me that way. I hope to make some more videos this year how I use it shallow. I'd much rather lock a squarebill in my hand all day and just go hunting and thats usually what I end up doing.
@DSwi6710 ай бұрын
How does it work on hard bottoms though? How does the pole dig in?
@theloonangler10 ай бұрын
It won’t dig it but it’ll create enough friction to hold you. One thing to be careful with on rock is it will push your kayak up since it can’t dig in and may be come more unstable. One of the lakes I fish regularly in this video has a lot of boulders and rock and I use it there all the time
@mnchristianangler10 ай бұрын
I love my power pole, especially on the river. I hadn’t thought about using it as a drag in deeper water will have to try that this year!
@theloonangler10 ай бұрын
I use it on St Clair like that and there’s a stretch on another lake with deep water I use it like that all the time
@FishinwithGRAMPS10 ай бұрын
think if I went the power pole route I'd need two to lock me into pointing in one direction. Do you find anchoring facing up current will spin you around?
@theloonangler10 ай бұрын
I could see where that would help but when I'm on the river I run a anchor wizard off of the bow. That system has worked well for me and honestly I usually just turn around and fish vs. even using the anchor wizard
@FishinwithGRAMPS10 ай бұрын
@@theloonangler yeah, that's what I'm planning while rigging the new yak
