Heat rises, why mount these in the door? Retractable power cord to me seems like trouble. Why not mount in between framing studs through wall above garage door??

I do not understand how this can be used on a table saw. The blade guard would get in the way- and you must NEVER move that.

What are you going to put on a shelf that's 2 inches below the TV?
@AnthonyTackett
@AnthonyTackett 4 ай бұрын
Good question. At the time, I had a slim DVD player that I put on the shelf. Just that and the remote. Now, I have a small Roku soundbar that sits on it. I did have to raise the TV about an inch for that though, but that was fairly straightforward using the bracket I bought to hang it.

Why do single people who are not engaged wear them? They might have a boyfriend/girlfriend, but they aren't engaged. Does the thin black one have a significant meaning?

Thank you , I have 3 saws, gunk on all of them. My son will be coming soon to help remove a few fallen down branches. So having the right saws to get the job done, is a plus. Video helped a lot.

I think it depends on what you are cutting. I have special feeder wheels, clamp on feather boards, push sticks, push handles and one of those Grr-rippers. And I use them all at different times. I think when you've been using your saw for a long time you just instinctively know which method will work best with the wood size you are cutting.

Don't agree. Over 50 years experience. Two stick method is asking for a kickback because of possible material lift. I know because it happened to me more than once. The J Heist style of one one the similar designs or the GRR-RIPPER is the way to go.

@norbay1
@norbay1 11 ай бұрын
Push sticks can still allow kick back because the tip of the push stick is the only force holding down the stock - especially if it's a thin cut , therefore letting the momentum of the powerful blade forcing the piece backwards. Set up time for the "Gripper" is worh rhe safety.

Maybe just do the safest thing and remove any unnecessary junk from your fingers while you're working with tools that are itching for you to make a small mistake? A silicone band can just as easily get your finger yanked into a bad situation. No actual tradespeople or potential life-partnersa, in any discipline that I've ever trained in, has ever worn any sort of of visual accent on their most important tools (their hands, if that's not clear). I don't know about you, but there's not a lot of single, potential mates hanging around my shop looking for non-symbolized crafts-people to jump on. Or maybe get a ring finger tattoo if it's really important to advertise that you're officially off the market, like the lifetime vows suggest. Anything else is just frippery that has no place in a real shop.

What type of screws did you used for mounting? I kind of want to use a color to match the iron pipe.

Great question! I'm probably going to get hate for this from a purist in the comments, but I just used drywall screws.😬 They were the only screws I had that most closely matched the pipe flange and I only have a small Roku sound bar and a switch dock sitting on the shelf. I haven't had any issues. I'm sure there are better options out there, but that's where I landed for this project.

Will it pass HOA approval? Check first, or else it'll be one very expensive overlooked step if the HOA doesn't approve and you forgot to call them even if you couldn't find your HOA Rules n' Reg's handbook. There goes the vent, and the door. Check the regulations first. Good plan and it should work nicely, but like I said above, check the regulations first.

Sorry but cutting into your garage door is beyond silly. First off it's visible from the street. Secondly power cables are going to be an issue, maybe not immediately but sooner or later. A thrfough wall solution or even tying something into the eve vents could have been done. Worse case, a bathroom exhaust fan plumbed up into a roof vent would have been a better solution.

Hi Anthony: great, great video! Have you found that Danish Oil (once dried) will not leave a residue on clothing, etc.? I'm thinking of using it on a large Black Walnut Bench; which I'm finishing for my grandkids! Thank you (in advance) for your assistance! Warm regards!
@AnthonyTackett

Hey thanks! I haven’t personally used it for anything that I might sit on. I haven’t had any issues with anything sticking to the shelves I’ve made but, if I were going to create something that gets a lot of use/wear, I would probably add a few coats of polyurethane over the cured danish oil just to be safe. You could always to a smaller test piece to see what happens. Im sure that bench is expensive!

Admittedly, I'm a newbie woodworker, and safety is top-of-mind since I have little personal experience to rely on. Anthony, I came to the same conclusion about the gripper regarding hand-proximity to the blade. The gripper push block requires me to move my hand closer to the blade than the porter-cable-style push stick you demonstrated in your video. My Delta table saw came packaged with a push stick similar to your Porter Cable example. The Delta manual that came with my saw says when making push sticks, follow the included design, which ensures your hand will remain a safe distance from the blade. I see people run workpieces over the blade with the gripper, and their hand is mere inches from the blade. If the blade catches on the gripper, it seems likely the push block could twist sideways, and the blade could pull one's hand into it. Bottom line is the further my hand is from the blade, the better; and the long-handled push sticks keep my hand further away by design. When cutting a narrow workpiece, why not turn the board around, and run the narrow piece on the off-cut side of the blade? Narrow through-cuts between the blade and the fence will always carry extra risk of pinching and kickback.
