Roger - Hi. Decades ago, you kindly and generously sent me the sheet music to your album (I have 4 copies of the CD). After some pretty big upheavals in my life, and several moves - I ashamed that I can't find it. I would love for our quartet to perform "It Is Well With My Soul" - your version is astoundingly beautiful. One of the guys remarked - how can we get through it without tears? I had also attempted to contact you by mail (letter returned, no forwarding address) and phone (bad number?) - I hope that all is well?!. Could I so impose as to ask for the sheet music again? We would be honored to sing this song and seek to give others inspiration - we are "Citrus Blend", the Barbershop Harmony Society Sunshine District 2024 Senior Quartet Champions. God Bless you! Which "Snake Hips" is Ella referring to? Earl Snake Hips Tucker kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3PWiZqOiq5smNE or Ken “Snakehips” Johnson kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXKcnnmMo7B-a7M Boh are from the period she speaks.

This is call natural raw talent. She never took a singing lesson, was just blessed with this talent. Today’s generation only knows singers who need auto tune to be able to sing.

Delightful! I didn't know that the trombonists, especially Glenn Dodson, could sing, too. Thanks for making this video available to us.

Nice to see you are still sharing your gift. You were my choir director at the Methodist Church in Hereford when I was in elementary school. I have thought of you often over the years as I have led the choir at my church. I learned so much from you. May God continue to bless you.

Great work Roger. Do you have the arrangements? I play in the Imperial Brass Band with a decent trumpet section with a good Eb Cornetist and soli cornet. Mark Ridenour is soloing with us this summer. Any of these would make a great special sectional piece. You might know Ron Waiksnoris our conductor who was solo cornet and director of the New York Staff Band. I think he'd love this!

I guess I'm a little late in noticing this but thank you so much for putting together this video, very interesting and informative. I remember you teaching me the grace note tonguing. It looks like you're enjoying retirement from your videos which is well-deserved. God bless, Fred Reimers

I have so much enjoyed this film. The music is fantastic and there is so much to see in the scenes. I am convinced that those were better times.

Ella has been quoted as saying “The only thing better than singing is more singing.” I would say that the only thing better than Ella is more Ella.

Thank you Roger, for posting you all singing "Creole Cutie." I used to sing this with my father & his chorus chapter friends after rehearsals. A fun old chestnut💈Fond memories indeed

Roger, I taught piano at The Choir College when you were there. I was Dr McCurdy's Assistant at First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia and commuted with him 2 or 3 days a week for 3 or 4 years. I taught mostly non-organ majors - did I teach you? Robert Prince

Just saw your comment about my gospel men's quartet and remember playing at your church in Philly in 1965! Glad you're still around and hope your health is good. I'm in St. Louis MO now living near our daughter's family. We were blessed with a lovely granddaughter and are doing a lot of traveling crossing various locations off our bucket list.

Why would they go through all the trouble to build and lay tracks when they had to be pulled by mules? Why would they build it without the proper electric infrastructure to run it? They didn't even use steam

That's a neat trick at 7:45- it looks like Nolan Miller takes the passage up to the C, giving David Wetherill a bit of a breather before the passage to the E!
