This is not a Persian drum, the Persians have a rich culture and traditions there is no need to claim something that is not belonging to them. You may admire and play the instrument but do not be disrespectful to the Kurdish culture and identity by claiming what is not yours and spreading misinformation. Respect to all, let’s not be this way towards eachother.

Hélas pour vous, vous vous trompez.....alors le mieux serait de dire que le Daf existe des deux côtés, mais il fait bien parti des instruments traditionnels de très longue date de l'Iran.

Now now, no need to get worked up. From what I know and I admit I am not a historian, the Daf is considered Iranian going all the way back to music traditions of the Sasanians. Whether or not it is Kurdish or Persian or any other culture's, we just have no reliable sources to have a confirmation.

Much better than Razbar and other Kurdish bands in Europe, they play the Daf in chaos and disturbance, unlike the Persians, who play it with perfection and art.
