Catch cans are only good for half the year. When it gets cold the heat from running the engine causes alot of condensation inside the catch can which can lead to your car sucking in water

I think there may be a problem with my q50. His actually looked like oil. The oil in my catch can looked like hot chocolate and the catch can was only on for about 1500 miles when I dumped it. There wasn’t much in there so that may be why, but still it looked very different. At least it didn’t go back into the engine

I’m gonna assume it was cold out. And the reason would be because your catch can is heating up and condensing the air inside which causes it to form water. Well water and oil creates what you’re talking about
