❗️Take a full cognitive break (make sure your brain is not actively processing info!!) Don't read, write, or scroll through social media HBO?? Every human being has a biological chronotype 🔶️Know when your peak performance hours are (& maybe even your slumps in productivity!) Carve out your peak times for your most cognitively challenging tasks You'd get so much more done and with so much more ease during your peak times ❗️Make sure you don't have blurred associations between work and home/personal life Create designated space, have physical objects that can work as triggers (Remove those objects when it's not designated work time) Remember to not be so connected Digital hygiene is the no. 1 mistake folks make

What he is talking about is acceptable behaviour bound by social conformance. It's being livestock. With this stupid behaviour you'll never reach the heights of power but much likely handle a position of manager in an organisation.

Not so true anymore, the Apple customer experience is trash now. They hire anybody, people who have no expertise reading off an online manual. It’s pathetic. I lost $400 on a mistake their customer service made. Also the store sold me the wrong item which was incompatible with my device, and they wouldn’t exchange it. No more SJ, no more Apple.

Video summary: 1. create a dedicated work routine and space to create cognitive triggers 2. Optimize your relationship with technology - filter which messages give you notifications - limit phone presence when you’re working 3. Use the focus sprint (set aside time for uninterrupted focus and productivity) 4. Limit distractions in your environment (electronic and otherwise) 5. Define your goals (and assign subtasks to the blocks of focus sprint) 6. Use a timer 7. Take true cognitive breaks to re-energize and maintain sustainability 8. Work by your chronotype Good luck!

Dr Beckman's example of a trained musician becoming a programmer rings true. Music theory and composition, and computer programming are both similar functional processes. Often the musician has an inner sense of math that is highly developed and influences their artistry, but may not recognize it as such. Missing may be the base principles of math that make formal math understandable. Many degreed musicians work as programmers. Particularly those who excel in theory and composition tend to make very good programmers.

Not wishing to be harsh, but Kletner himself mentions ISIS. Ruthless violence worked well for a lot of people. Hitler was doing ok. Stalin. Any number of dictatorial small business owners (verbal violence). Same for Jim Crow. Very nice blue-eyed white, blonde and charismatic professor seems to be floating off on his own realities. And, dear prof, you might want to stop with the "you knows" and other fillers designed to make you seem casual because it also makes you look less smart
