Thats how most quality made torque converter auto transmissions work. My 2007 volvo with aisin transmission does this too

I have a 05 as well but mine is an automatic. Would that affect the module or relays that are used? If you went thru a new or newish relay quickly couldn’t that be an indication that there has been power surges? For instance if the voltage regulator is failing? I am hoping that is not the case with mine :(

Bro discovered Kick Down 😂
@DaytonaBlu2 күн бұрын
i think its called engine brake most cars and suvs have it its supposed too do that for defencive driving in emergncy situations it downs shifts the transmission too keep the oil pressure up incase of quick acceleration out of a rut and the RPM high too have high vacuum for the powered brake assist too keep efficient braking power untill you go back to normal driving it also happens at speeds above 40mph if you turn the wheel hard like a fast lane change the transmission drops gear and the steering wheel tightens up to maintain control of the vehicle.... I drove my sisters 17 Rogue it has a setting for engine braking and dynamic steering ...

My 02 Explorer does this. If I accelerate rapidly and then let off at like 50 kmh it just stays in 2nd or 3rd for a few seconds and then up shifts. It's not a police package, but that model was marketed to police, it even has the same engine as the Crown Vic.

1:15 There is a semiconductor between the bottom (hot) heatsink and the top (cool) heatsink. (wires connected) It's called a Thermo Electric Generator (TEG). When one side is hot and the other side is cooler it generates electricity. Not much, and they aren't very efficient, but enough to run the fan. There is also a version called a Thermo Electric Cooler (TEC). These are what make up those mini desktop refrigerators that run on USB or similar. The TEG itself will eventually die. There are also versions powered by Stirling engines. These are a mechanical engine that run on temperature difference. Expensive, but neat looking.
