They run one in Cocoa, Florida every winter however you need to be a Awlgrip application facility. If you are, contact your sales rep. The facility is called the Yacht Paint Application Center (YPAC.

I am fixing to refit and paint our own sailboat, here in Florida. This video made me think about the similarities, yet big difference between when I worked in a Dodge Auto paint department and then went to work at a Corvette paint shop. The equipment was mostly the same, but working with metal autos and then switching to fiberglass autos was a learning experience all over again. When I was in the business the talk was all about the spray booth. Down draft, Up draft, Side draft. With or without infrared heat . The new thing at the Corvette place was Floride Clearcoat, back then.

Hi, after each coat of paint with awlgrip must be sanded and polished? exept the last one obviously, thanks.
@wilkinsonyachtbroker8 жыл бұрын
+eric rios no need to polish it, but yes you must sand all except the final coat with grit ~300-400 then cleaning solvents and tack cloth.

Why do they put so much high technology, efforts, hours, skills, shiny finish... and money, for such an ugly lurid hideous result when viewed from outside. Are the owner unabble to ask for a vessel looking good at sea, as good as it cost?
@identitywitheld0077 жыл бұрын
stephsail well luckily you'll never be tasked with the choice of what yacht to choose, as that is reserved for people who don't complain online for shit they can't afford.

You hab a bad dinner, your love let you down, your dog has biten you cat, you are deeply depressed... What else? Very sad... I apologize, but I can not help you to be happy and usefull here. So sorry. So these boats are still ugly at sea (inefficient as well), and still people to love that more then anything. Anybody knows why? To be fair it is not specifically the brand Sunseeker, it is quite all these big luxury motor yachts that are all the same and so poor about aesthetic.
