I am about to buy the sony alpha 7s. But i have absolutely no idea what lense I should buy. What lense can you recommend that is under 1000 Euro? I will use the 7s for filming but also for taking pictures. And if course i wanna have a lense that produces a nice depth of field. Can you help me?

Great information, but all that jumping around you're doing is difficult to watch.

Quite possibly the best photography/cinematography video I've seen on KZbin. Jam packed with information but presented perfectly for the layman to follow. Incredible stuff dude. I gotta wonder as a follow up, I'm amazed at how well the A7s controlled noise even at those high ISO. Is that just cuz of the camera itself, or something else. Usually when I shoot on my phone, even shooting at over 1600 ISO introduces insane amounts of noise. Is that just due to the smaller sensor?

Question. Im using my green screen but what is happening is, when i hold up, like a can of corn u buy out the store, i edited the footage with my program but the background is bleeding through the can. I tried the 3 point lighting but it's still coming through the can. What am I doing wrong?

This would have to be one of the best how to videos I've seen on the subject of Bokeh. And you explain it in very easy to understand language. Thanks mate. :)

2 years later and I am still using my trusty old GH4 (and normal 4K recording on U3 SDXC cards). It looks like 4K will last for ever (maybe till 2030 or even beyond that since you can see difference between 1080p and 4k, but not so much between 4k and 8K).

After tons of research, the best bang for buck high quality option for making youtube videos is Canon 70D + Sigma 30mm F1.4, you could also use Canon 6D Full Frame + cheaper 50mm F1.8 Canon lens, but the 70D has much better auto focusing, and with a 30mm F1.4 lense the cropped sensor will do a very similar job (30mm x 1.6 = 48mm) but higher quality over all than the 6D route due to the lens quality and F1.4 capability instead of F1.8. Search for a video called: "Best Lenses for KZbin" for more info and comparisons

ps: the other problem I see with foam board vs a muslin cloth is acoustic treatment comma seems like the foam board and paint would give you really bad acoustics
@thatsaloadofcrap8 жыл бұрын
how can you use for foam board across the whole wall and not have seams? one comment, I'm not sure why everybody is so hung up on price, this is Trivial compared to what you spend on the lights and a good lens

Quick question, what lens would you say allows you to capture a medium/close up shot, and be the correct distance from the camera to limit the effect of the eyes looking to one side of the camera? my guess is an 85mm lens? what would you suggest, seen as you have used this method? Many thanks

this was a great tutorial. Do you happen to have any links to the type of light fixture you're referring to? (electronic ballast vs traditional ballast). And is it literally Electronic Ballast vs Magnetic Ballast? I shoot in 24p 99% of the time and don't want to purchase the wrong type of ballast. THANKS!
