my college used the same PA system as WTC 1-6, so it was surreal hearing it at 8AM knowing that thats what people heard before they died.

My guess is that it either was a hickup in the synthesized voice, similar to how early text to speech voices rarely spoke fluent sentences. Or that different directions could be programmed, and that the transition between the fixed and programmed part was simply rough. Similar to navigation systems or automated announcements at train stations that often pause mid sentence.

The alarm syatem from 1973 wasused for saftey drills twice a year but didn't worked on the 1993 bombing and the alarms that replaced it had been used twice a year for saftey drills and on 9/11

More info on the alarms in 1-5: They used MXL-V Slow whoop un-voice assisted. The speakers were Cerberus Pyrotronics SS25-15/75 Wall speaker strobes, With the pull stations most likely being Cerberus pyrotronics MS-MIs.

At least Building 4, if not 5 and 6 as well had the two chimes. You can hear them at several points in Jack Taliercio’s footage.

Can you show the video with a timestamp? The only footage I've seen from inside the lowrise buildings had no original audio. An edited version exists where someone put the sound from WTC7's footage in there among other sound effects. Building 7 was built much later than the rest of the complex and therefore had a different system.

I think all fire alarms should be voice assisted , I think it gives a clearer message to indicate a real emergency. These alarms are always so haunting to hear especially knowing where and when they were used. Take a moment of silence for those lost.
