Okay, so here me out. I have a VERY farfetched interpretation of the lyrics of this song. It's pretty bizarre and covers a risky subject, but let me break it down. In a nutshell, I think that this song addresses the issue of covered up child abuse within the Catholic Church. I first thought of this while watching an H3H3 podcast where they discussed this issue and then I started thinking about this song, especially because of the lines "I am not your altar boy, you are not my father". An altar is of course found in a chapel and is where the priest reads from. Interesting... A vulture is a predator. "101 vultures, dirty up the waters", the "water" being the Catholic Church's reputation. Also water is pure, and religion should be too. You could think of holy water too, I guess. The predators within the Catholic Church dirty up the water, aka, damage the purity of the Catholic Church. "101" may refer to the sheer amount of abuse cases that have been covered up or ignored, which is in the hundreds! Think of this song as a conversation. "And I don't mean to be so crass about the situation" may be from the perspective of somebody who could have helped a victim. "To be crass", or to be ignorant, is what the authorities have done and still do to this day! "The reasoning your loose interpretation, in a sea of motherfuckers man, you were no salvation". This is from the perspective of the victim who is bitter about not being salvaged. "Why'd you go leave me to the vultures, now it weighs so heavy on my soul". The victim asking why they were left with the predators and the emotional damage that is a result of it. Also could mean that they feel as though their relationship with their religion has been damaged because they have endured such evil. "Now I can't sleep at night, I'm not afraid, I'm terrified" Emotional trauma. "Could have done better, should have done better" in the POV of someone who could have helped, knowing full well that they had enough evidence, but this world is so corrupt. Just a thought... I feel weird thinking of the song in this way but there are too many coincidences, also, "God, it's so perverted"...
