This has clearly been influenced by the modern understanding that Bronte wrote a supernatural vampire themed gothic novel cleverly disguised as a dark romance. An interesting film version of the original story, but unfortunately as has already been commented, too dark to see what is happening on screen. Hitchcock once said the darkness should be n the cinema, not on the screen. One of the classic dark romances of all time and a wonderful novel that so many of us are familiar with, sadly this film version didn't make the cat, not for me anyway. Couldn't even make it through the first ten minutes. Thanks for the upload though.

Damn. I remember when my grandpa died at 8 years old and i knew my grandpa (he who was as a father, taking care of me, picking me up from school, working on my moms house) died at 40. I didnt fathom it till i saw him in a casket. I remeber my real dad telling me to shut up and not to cry. I couldn't hold it in and i went up to him and begged him to come back. I swore he was breathing and begged to the mortuary employees to please help. It was so awful. Worst feeling ever when you're a baby and the one person who helped take care of you dies. I will admit when my bestfriend or family members died it got sadly easier each time. The lord is right. Children are innocence and as we age our heart gets harder. Especially those who are taught to have mature and hard hearts. Its a sad thing but it's real

This was a great movie. Times were so meaningful back then. Had me crying at the end.
