I've played lots of Star Wars games when I was younger. This is the only PS1 Star Wars game iv played. I played it once on a Saturday afternoon and completed it.

People give FMV a hard time. This was basically just Starfox mechanically.

Its for pc, but for space sims, the xwing series (including tie fighter).

This was more or less my first game ever. I loved it but it was also very hard to my child self. I would actually wear a ski-helmet with goggles when playing the game and feel like a real rebel pilot 😅. Fun fact: the live action footage here was the first shot for a Star Wars project since the Ewok tv movies in 1984-1985. Shortly after that came Jedi Knight which also did footage with love actors against digital backgrounds.

I think i've seen it on PS store a couple of days ago or maybe was a similar old game... I'll give it a chance, thanks for the little but straight to the point review 👍🏻

I finished Xenogears when it was released. Didn't regret it. The story is great, but will be hard to follow for some people looking for simple plots.

The soundtrack is legendary, and there are even a few good lines in the script. But none of them are in the main story, which is just bad Evangelion fanfic mixed with 3am stoner misinterpretations of philosophy 101 textbooks. And the gameplay? Somehow they took a battle system that's supposed to feel like dialing in quick combos and made it agonizingly slow. Not to mention dungeons that were so bad, they were among the worst in the genre, until these same guys made Xenosaga. It only goes surface level with the things its story is supposed to be "deep" about, as an actual game it's a shit experience to play through... but like I said, fantastic soundtrack, completely worth downloading so you don't have to associate it with all of the bad that's actually in playing the game.

I missed the last couple hours of the game due to a big breakup at the time. Couldn't get back into it ;) probably couldn't handle the pace now, but thank you for the memories lol

At lest you tried. This is old school jrpg, most younger players would not finish it. But if you had PSX as a kid you know the magic of old sprites and midi music. Xeno had great story and combat but problems in production (budget) are especially visible on CD2, pacing is messy, many cut content or just exposition in ton of text, you wouldn't survive that man XD Overall fine video, quick topics are fine, and don't feel bad about not finishing the game... But IMO you have to finish something to get grasp of the themes and level of understanding needed to be able to make sound and leveled conversation about the subject. (If that's your thing.) Keep up good work, and keep improving your pronunciation and ENG overall, have a like and a sub, I'll be watching your progress 😄 🇵🇱

My foster mum who loved jrpg games said the first half of Xenogears was one of the best games she had ever played but something in the 2nd half made it one of the worst games also. I always wanted to try it for myself but alas I guess I will have to wait for that eventual Square Enix cash grab with the Brave Fencer Musashi fans who are waiting for their game too

With all the RPG games I've played, it's extremely hard to play a "classic". Maybe the remake I'll go back to Xenogears.

I played RPGS extensively in the ps1 era and during that point in time I think I considered Xenogears my favorite ps1 rpg ever for years to come at that point. Even with the unfinished 2nd disc and 90s jank it was a god tier (no pun intended) game to me. Unfortunately though the game is rough and between the graphical style aging so poorly and the face that the UI / QOL features are lacking i wouldn't even consider it a top 3 playstation 1 rpg these days. You probably would have absolutely loved it if you played it when it was brand new. That being said the biggest sin the game is guilty of is not killing off Dan in the opening scene.

Finished Xenogears twice around 1998-2002. It's definitely a classic to me, introduced me to some interesting ideas beyond gaming.

It's hard for me to judge this game thru a modern lens. I played it the year it came out and quite enjoyed it. The final boss battles were brutal, but that's probably because I didn't grind. I did beat it after a few tries. From what I understand, they ran out of money and couldn't finish the game, which is why disc 2 was so truncated. But back in the day everything was new and exciting and I didn't know any better. I couldn't play a game like this in current year, but back in the day it was pretty dope.

Xenogears had a faaaaar better story and world building than any JRPGs that I played in ps1. The opening sequence alone got me invested and intrigued on its world. It's probably the best story for an rpg that I played on all platforms. But the 2nd disc, the encounter rate, platforming and dungeons are all frustrating asf lmao So I can't blame yah. Oh there's also some enemies and bosses that can only be beaten by following a pattern that you have to figure out. lol

back in 1999, i played Xenogears but when the time i switched to Disc 2, it wouldn't read and play. FML. I hope they do a remaster of this someday

i only made it about five hours before quitting xenogears twenty years ago, but i think i was at a point where i was burnt out from too many jrpgs, and probably didn't give it a fair chance. i might like to give it another chance some time, but i'd need to get it on a platform where i'd actually play it, which is the real challenge anymore.

I personally dislike winter in farm simulators, the crops and animals of the farm become nothing you better have some very cool other gameplay elements to make up for the loss of farming.

DK 1 and 2 hold a special place in my heart. Its such a shame the 2014 version was a shameless cashgrab instead of a real attempt to bring back the series. I would pay good money for a decent DK3.

I played my older brother's copy of this when I was a kid. I absolutely loved the unit designs of the two factions and how different they were from each other, but gameplay wise with Red Alert already out and Tiberian Sun just a couple years later, it really paled in comparison. Its a real shame that it wasn't better polished back then.

Medal of Honor is one of my fav fps series but, this is the only one games that hard asf also the allied ai sucks sometimes rushing anywhere and got killed

I remember upgrading my RAM from 4 to 8MB back in the day just to be able to run that game :) If you want to play Wing Commander 1 and 2 look out for the "Wing Commander Saga" compilation. It includes updated versions of the games for Windows 95. Works well under Win10 if you create a shortcut for the WC1.EXE / WC2.EXE and select "Windows 95 Compatability Mode".

It wouldn't even be on my top ten worst Atari games. Stuff like Custer's Revenge, Sssnake, Star Fox, and Karate are more deserving of that honor than ET.

This was the best they should remake these old titles someday.
