Is there anywhere where we can hear this composition in its entirety?

Hola Paco, I will be recording it in the fall of 2024, so hopefully it will be released in 2 or 3 months. Thanks for listening!

1:27 Why the shift? Is there a more or less musical explanation behind it rather than it being related to and affected by the analog clock?
@wonghow9 ай бұрын
The barre is much harder near 1st position, since the hand is further from the body therefore requqires more power to press, and fret distance is greater. I always practice the barre using Sor study op29 no13. Is very tiring since it includes stretches

Rasgueo is particluarly difficult involving the q finger which is the pinky, it is shorter and the weakest. When qami, the qa is uneven and less control. I keep training the qa until it produce the same sound as am and mi.

The best explanation of Flamenco rhythms I have seen. Finally I think I understand it. Of course it should be about "feeling it", but I always wnat also to intellectually understand musical concepts. Great video!

Yes, Vicente Amigo is a brilliant, brilliant composer. What I find so special about this composition is he is able to create this haunting melody of profound beauty, while keeping the technique uncomplicated. All attention is on the beauty of the music. All the best to you!

I have now listened to the whole piece and so now understand that Vicente Amigo is not only a virtuoso, but a talented composer - did not know before. Thank you for bringing this into my life. One of the most beautiful sounds I have ever heard.@@DiegoDeOro

Yes, you are absolutely right! :-) This student is more advanced so I'm able to move quickly with him. However, from recording the lessons, I am learning to move slower and explain more accurately. At the end of the day, we are all students. Best of luck with your studies, and thank you for watching!

At which tempo (bpm) are you playing? Or which tempo do you suggest to practice It?
@DiegoDeOro11 ай бұрын
I usually play soleá in the range of 100 - 120 bpm, most often in the lower to mid. tempo. Practise it at a tempo where you can realize all the techniques cleanly and accurately (pay attention to subdivisions, accents, overall dynamics.) I recommend to practise 80% of the time slow and controlled ,and then finish the remaining 20% of the time as fast as you like. Some things your body can only figure out by doing it fast. (ie: walking fast does not prepare you for sprinting😉) All the best!

Why does everyone else need to make flamenco rhythms so confusing and opaque. It’s different, not quantum physics. Thanks.

7:49 That's a great tip! I was having a bit of trouble with clarity playing the harmonics on the 5th fret. Wasn't even thinking about my right hand location much. Did some adjusting and found that sweet spot about 2-4 inches from the bridge. Thank you! Also, great insights on tempo and accenting with the arpeggios. I'll be honest, when looking up performances of this piece for reference, I saw Julian Bream and figured it was a sure thing for authority in how to interpret the piece. I found myself disappointed at the musicality being almost entirely lost during those arpeggios. Impressive sounding with the speed? Yes. Musically enjoyable to listen to? Not so much.
